Before I forget about it entirely and forever I must pass on to ye how true this principle is, especially as it relates to the purchase and sculling of pints.
I knew this fella who in his teens spent some time as a part bar boy.
He was under the control of "Two times Tommy "so called because he used count in twos when taking stock going back to the start all of the time.
For example he would go like this when counting ",two ,two four, two ,four, six, two ,four, six ,eight and so on.".
He was rarely wrong in taking stock.
Anyhow there was a time when drinking pints of Guinness was a serious and enjoyable concern and was approached by some as a social and sociable endeavour.
Now Our Man was of such a nature and not only did he dress up in his second best clothes for drinking pints but he insisted that they be pulled by the Head Barman and not by any mere bar boy .Which irked our bar boy considerably Man would gladly order the pint from the bar boy with the caveat it had to be pulled by the Head Bar Man.
And so it went. Our Man drank Monday to Friday ,6 pints every evening and took Saturday off,to freshen up for Sunday's dozen from after Mass till teatime ,when he ate a light lunch .
Two Times was the Head Barman and had some sympathy for the bar boy and his humiliation.
He promised on the quiet to sort out Our Man and did so always on a Friday....last Pint.
He saved up the slops, those bits of beer skimmed from the top of the Pint as superfluous and slid into a tray out of sight of the punter.
It wouldn't be fit for human consumption but was great to move the bowels of constipated boar pigs and was much in demand for such.
The last Pint our Man got every Friday was three quarters slops wit a milky head to make it look good,
"Too good for the auld bollix "said Two Times."Yup"said the boy.
Our Man never associated his mildly upset stomach every Saturday wit anything other than "alcoholic constipation"which he put down to the lack of drink on Saturdays and the inability to Pass a Pub.
In Dunderry the craic never ends..

Underbelly of Blanchardstown.
I have written some articles on Blanchardstown and contributed to some forums always in a decent and humorous way.
Probably I have looked back through rose coloured lenses and omitted the ugly underbelly always viciously present and screened from view by lowly bred persons with cumulative chips on their puny and screwed up shoulders.
For my efforts I have been called a "Wanking Fucking Scumbag and a Fat Fuck that should lose weight."by some anonymous cowards whose comments would mirror their parents lack of breeding and decency.
All this stuff can be traced you know were I to report it to the Gardai.
I might yet so keep a look over your shoulders ,

U.21B.F.C.SEMI FINAL .Oldcastle 3-11.Dunderry 3-5
Played this Sunday morning at mid day in a sunny and mild Athboy pitch this match between traditional rivals was eagerly anticipated.
Would our guys hold their heads, keep their mouths shut ,concentrate on playing the sort of football they are capable of,or would the few bad apples we can have infect the rest of the team with their disruptive behaviour.
I was about five minutes late and scores were hard to come by.The teams were well matched physically and skill wise.Thirteen a side football is an enjoyable experience.I played it myself in my youth and loved it.It requires skill, athleticism and intelligence and gives great scope for creativity.
The biggest sin is stray passing ,closely followed by lack of concentration.
I had heard that there was some doubt about the availability of some of our guys.I didn't see Jamie Leavy nor Shane Gartland who played the last day and don#t know the story with them.' Team Lined out as follows;
Eoin Smith
Alex Walshe Aaron Feeney
Stefan Clarke Conor Dempsey Tomas Conroy
Mark Kane Cianan Mc Kenna
Conor Daly Oisin Martin Jack Brady
Luke Martin Peter Casey.
Oldcastle took an early points lead and our game plan became clear. It was to get the ball speedily to Lukie who is a big guy ,a good man to win possession and well able to score.Oisin Martyn is a perpetual motion machine and an intelligent and unselfish player and has developed physically in recent years.
Alex Walsh is ,despite his small stature ,a brave and creative player and an incisive distributor of the ball.
We got two goals within a minute after 15 minutes due mainly to astute passing and intelligent layoffs from the aforementioned players.
Lukie was hauled down for a peno and Mc Kenna dispatched to the net with panache.Lukie followed up with a well taken goal himself shortly afterwords and I noted that theses scores were match changing events. Then to cap it all Oisin followed on to a botched save by the Oldcastle goalkeeper to finish to the net.All our guys were on song and Oldcastle were clearly rattled and missed a number of easy point chances.
They did steady up somewhat and when the break came we led comfortably by 3-3 to 0-7 and deservedly so.
With little or no breeze we looked more likely to win than lose.
I am not saying that the other players we have ,other than the three I have mentioned ,are bit players. They most certainly are not and all contributed well to our well being in fact, putting it all on the line.
All we had to do was keep the head and the discipline and the mouths shut.
Actually we got only 0-3 in the second half and they got 3-4.Now the referee wasn't great but in fairness to him was the same to each side. And they had some fine players,Chances they were spurning in the first half started to find their range.
Bad habits tolerated by the Club in a small minority of our guys when they were not yet teens resurfaced, encouraged in no small part from uncouth crowd shouting , and infected our responses.
Instead of steadying the ship and consolidating our lead some, but not all of our guys ,resorted to mouth play against theitr teammate's and whoever crossed their paths.
Oldcastle responded by chipping away at our lead and scored a good goal and a softish one to draw level.
With the fat in the fire our response was not what was needed. We lost the initiative entirely and the plot also.
A harmless free for all developed on the far side of the pitch from me.No more than the man in the moon I couldn't see what happened.
The referee sorted it without sending anyone to the line, but Oldcastle continued to hold firm and played with more cohesion and authority.
After the bust up the umpires took a more proactive approach and one of our boys received line after an umpires intervention.
This totally unsettled us entirely and despite one of their guys getting line also they grew in a stature as we faded into our cocoons.
Instead of concentrating on football,as I heard Conor Dempsey urging us to do ,as the end approached ,enough of our guys stopped trying when a more spirited response was needed.
Barry Coffey and Mikie Dowdall came on too late to make a difference.
I was not impresses with the response of some of our guys when the chips were down and consider the lack of ambition of some of our players deplorable.
It is totalally unfair on those who week in and out bust a gut in the Club's interest.
We got some fine scores as follows;-Conroy 0-1.Mc Kenna 1-0.Pen.Kane 0-2 .1 FREE,Oisin 1-0,Lukie 1-2.

U21 f F.C Dunderry 3-10 Moynalty 2-10
There was severe ground frost on Saturday night but by 2.00 p.m. Sunday the Kilmainham Pitch was the finest and well fit to play on.
I don't know for sure but guess that Moynalty and ourselves draw from a similar population base.I do know that Paul Govern who now lives here is a Moynalty man and played with us for a few years. He was also a selector for a year or two I think.
Other than that our paths don't cross too often and in my time at least ,Dunderry have been the more prominent Club.
So I didn't know what to expect today.
The team.
Eoin Smith,
Alex Walshe Jamie Leavy
Stefan Clarke Conor Dempsey 0-1 Tomas Conroy 0-1
Cianan McKENNA Mark Kane 0-2 frees
Eoin Daly 0-3. 2.Frees Oisin Martin 1-1 Jack Brady 0-1
Luke Martin 1-1 Shane Gartland
Subs used.C. Harten,Aaron Feeney,Mickey Dowdall.
For the benefit of our overseas readers Eoin Smith is the son of Patricia Smith and Flange Farrelly.Jamie Leavy is Timber's son,his ma is a daughter of Paddy Kavanagh who refeered an All Ireland and Mary Lawless of Lawlesses Cross.Alex Walshe, child of rabid Dublin supporters , is a Dub.in exile from the Black Road.Stefan Clarke is the son of Stephen and Anne who live in Kilcooley. At least one of his parents,I am unsure which ,is from Moynalty I think.Conor is Dermot ,the Judges, son.Tomas Conroy is the Son of Tommy from Lambay and his mother is a Curran.Cianan Mc Kenna is from Robinstown and I think his father played with them before they gave it up.Mark Kane is from Robinstown and his Da also played with them too.It is a fact that his Firm Ashleaf Furniture sponsored Robinstown in 1986 and sponsored a sign for us in 2016.Eoin Daly is one of the sons of Dan Daly and Rose Loughran from Robinstown.Oisin Martin is the son of Gerry ,a Slane native now happily living amongst us.Jack Brady is the son of Paudi,a Blanchie in exile here like myself.I met his mother only brirfly and she too is from my part of the coiuntryLukie is the son of Galway expat Gus and Olive Feeney.
Shane is Kevin Brady's son from the Black Road and there for a cousin of my own.I don't know his Ma but if he is anything to go by she must be a great one.
I don't know young Harten that well..Aaron is the son of Tommy Feeney and his mother is member of the Sugsie Kennedy clan of Trim ,Gaels par excellence. And Mickey Dowdall is a member of the Dowdall family whose patriarch is the the most rabid Brit supporter we have and whose attention to detail is of enormous help to me.
Now you have it all.
I was 5 minutes late and we were behind by 1-1 to 0-1 at that stage. To be truthful both teams were evenly matched skill wise and physically conditioned. We probably held the edge on combination play ,the more experienced guys having the wiser and more calm interplay .By half time we had drawn level and looked the surer bet to prevail on SCORELINE OF 1-5 TO 1-5.
like Ireland against the All Blacks yesterday MOYNALTY dominated the second half but wasted chance after chance to pull away.We on the other hand harvested well the few breaks into opposition territory and we made and banked enough scores to see us through.
Goals win matches and probably the second half one scored by Lukie with half the opposition hanging out of him was the decisive score of the second half.Nor could you exclude the improbable save made by OWEN SMITH who denied a certain goal to Moynalty during a ten minute period in the second half when we were under siege .
Another similarity we had with the Irish Rugby Team yesterday was that there was far too much speech play from a small number of our players to the referee.
Against better opposition these guys would be better employed letting their football do their talking.
The team remains on track to be the only team at adult level in the Club at can win a championship this year.
This was a good game right up to the final whistle.

Four Parishes hammer Dunderry in under 21 Hurling
Tonight in Dunganny the Blackhall/Drumree combination absolutely hammered Dundery in the under 21 Hurling.
Blackhall is a combination of Batterstown and Kilcloon.Drumree includes Dunshaughlin.
Our lads did their best but the opposition had too many good players for us to manage.
Poor Lukie Martin was ridden bareback by about three players every time he got possession. How he stuck it I don't know.
Were Pat Gannon, one of the best hurling referees in Meath,to apply he letter of the law half of the opposition would be put to the line for serial saddling.
Not only did they beat us pulling up they easily won the mouthing at the Referee contest both on thr field and sideline.A number of their players just can't keep their mouths shut and one only got line.
Former Dunderry Player Kit Doyle is a selector.
Kit used let his hurling do his talking.Presumably he will inculcate this message in his charges before their next Match.
Our guys gave it all they had in the tank.No shame and I AM PROUD OF THEM.
More to follow.
Dunddry Team.
Eoin Smith.
Aaron Feeney Tomas Conroy.
Mickey Dowdall Conor Dempsey Killian Leonard.
Luke Martin Jamie Leavy
Alan Casey Stefan Clarke Peter Casey
John Moran Alex Walsh.
Subs used.Adam Keenan and Cathal Ryan.
It never ceases to amaze me that the top table of the GAA so cravenly follow Sean Kelly in the betrayal of the ASSOCIATION by kow towing to the Rugby heads by making available our hard earned grounds to those self same professional Bodies who are in competition with us for the minds and hearts of our youth.
In this PARISH at least two of our schools are being targeted by these people to the detriment of our native games.
By the craven granting of our grounds to further glorify and promote the game of Rugby these people are sending out the unmistakable signals that Rugby is the game to follow no problem.
It would serve them better to for example address the huge lacuna in the promotion of hurling in the large swathe of the County Meath where it takes four Parishes housing tens of thousands of people to field 13 players.
You don#t see Tesco handing over their stores to Dunnes to advance Dunnes. Why should the GAA actively promote their opposition.
What next...Ireland's Call at our games instead of Amhran na Fianna.
With all the the feelings I can muster and defter spending A half century promoting the GAMES OF THE Gaels I strongly disassociate myself from this betrayal.

Sean O Rourke a total ignoramus.
In fairness to O Rourke he broadcast this morning an interview he did with the President in waiting of the USA on his visit to Ireland some years ago to open the Hotel he had bought in Co.Clare.
Such a condescending, insulting ,biased , racist....anti American and anti white heterosexual ....and just plain ignorant interview would be hard to find anywhere in the civilized world.
He is not alone in the Repeatedly Threatening Everybody Station in this.
Those female political reporters are clearly miffed at Trumph's win and at every opportunity whistle through their overbite teeth how the fascist bullies holding various cities in the USA to ransom are there because of Trump's victory, implying it is his fault,
Of course Gandhi foresaw their ilk many moons ago when he said"First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win,"
O Rourke and his fellow travellers and sneers have some way to go yet.
As for Enda a very public humble pie swallow and apology is needed in the Interest of our Country.

Sickening double standards of Secularist.
I watched the one sided debate on the Late Show overseen by a sneering and condescending Ryan Tubridy who wore his wimpish colours on his sleeve and did all in his power to talk down both to a to a guest and us ,who pay his wages through our Licence fees.
The guest supported the election of Trump in the American election,as did the American electorate .
She was consistently sneered at and belittled by Tubridy and a simpering female guest who makes a habit of lecturing all and sundry as a serial panellist ,voicing her anti male vitriol ,called Collette Brown.
She seemingly attends the Kings Inns and mustn't yet have done the part of the course teaching manners as she continuously interrupted ,with Tubridy's ignorant connivance ,any contributions which disagreed with her own sad views.
In this she is at one with the feminist /secular media ,both electronic and paper based ,who get every call of importance totally wrong, deride, talk down and mock those whose views they constantly sneer at and are democrats only if the results of elections and referrenda suit their agendas.
As far as I can see the vast majority of political contributors, panellist and deplorable so called journalists working for RTE....Repeatedly Threatening Everybody ...are ad idem in promoting the murder of the unborn ,deriding Religious practise, promoting homosexual practise and values ,sneering at white native heterosexual values and those who appreciate them as naturally superior to the alternatives.
And of course all the papers are top heavy with biased and condescending journalists and editors who push the secularist agenda at every opportunity ,particularly the female ones who totally expect to say whatever they want about men and sulk and scream like the spoilt and spiteful wains they are when they are responded to in like fashion..
For example there is a female h journalist called Alison O Connor,A SERIAL PANELLIST AND LOUDMOUTH .who before the American election called the present President of the USA a misogynist pig.
Can you imagine just how she would squeal were any man to call her a man hating and penis envy auld sow..
Now Tubridy and his ilk have made much play of the use of the word "pussy "by Trump in a private male context years ago, which content was released on tape by a sneaky and underhand Trump opponent who wasn't man enough to take his beating.
Hillary, whose own husband rode everything female that moved when he was able expressed shock and awe that such a word would privately be bandied around.
Given the choice I'd say she would rest easier in her retirement were her husband just to have grabbed another woman's privates rather than engage in much more intimate sexual practises.
Similarly the wimp Tubridy says he is aghast that anyone should use the pussy word in private conversation and wonders how he would explain it to his daughters.
Maybe he is such a bookworm that he is not aware the there is a whole world of porn available on the Internet and that that precise word is probably the most used and violated organ on it.
How he is going to protect his daughters from this is something he would want to figure out sooner rather than later. And to blame Trump is arrant nonsense.
It is no surprise that the people who most wanted the banning of censorship and the publication are of course the self same secularists who now feign shock at the grooming of wider society by the publication of material of a sexual nature.
Just a few years ago the antics of the "pussy rioters "as they flashed their tits at all and sundry and violated Churches all over the place ,were widely reported in all the media outlets including RTE and presently the death of Leonard Cohen is being widely lamented by ALL AND SUNDRY.
Leonard celebrates far more female interaction than grabbing pussy in his songs .
Of course the antics of the Pussy Rioters and the songs of Cohen are far more hip and acceptable to the secularist know all and feminist academics and not a word from then nor their wimpish and academic co travellers either then nor now.
But dare a male heterosexual white man to have have mentioned it nearly a decade ago and all hell breaks loose.
Talking of Hell I hope that the millions of pre born children who died unnecessarily because of the grooming of the populace by secularist and rabid feminist with the assistance of Devilish medics and evil judges and lawyers are stokers of the fires of Hell and are granted grace by God to keep these fires going on those whose persuasion and assistance resulted in their deaths.
I exclude from this those women brainwashed into doing these deeds by these dastardly persons.
And finally it never ceases to amaze me just how the man haters and their ilk continuously get away with defining what a real man is and does.
What would they know about it.
Fortunately the American electorate is not yet pussy whipped enough to accept all this bullshit without a fight.
And so they have chosen.
Of course the Hillary fascists,so used to killing the defenceless unborn without opposition are just unable to accept that their day is gone and that the election is not going to be rerun to suit them.
Hopefully they will discover that persons of their own age will put up more fight than the defenceless unborn whose blood spilling they miss totally.
Justice demands they be rounded up and given spades and shovels to dig that wall.
Should soften their coughs.
AND I BELIEVE THAT ABORTION IS PUSHED AND POPULARIZED BY THE ELITE TO ENSURE THAT THE LESS FORTUNATE WILL NEVER HAVE THE NUMBERS TO EVICT SAID ELITE FROM THEIR COMFORTABLE AND SNUG STATIONS IN LIFE.
It's an awful pitythat those who claim to represent the poor as so blinkered that they can't see this and by their support of abortion perpetuate the status quo.
Of course when you sup with the Devil you need a long spoon.aAnd they are plentiful.

Dunderry triumph over Ballivor in u 21 football.
Last night in Dunganny was the most miserable, hateful and despicable night weather wise I have ever experienced.
The rain sliced into the body, the icy wind cut into the flesh and your glasses would need wipers to see through the spills.
It is a greet tribute to the lads who togged out for Dunderry in the game against Ballivor therefor that they took to the field and stayed there.I m glad to see that some of them have ballsed up these last few years..
I think little of those eligible to play who made the choice not to make themselves available. In the most important and unique chance the hurlers got to play Bennetsbridge a number of years ago some people also choose not to be available ..This is not good enough
David Newman who travelled home from America seven times to play the year we won the Senior Football championship sets the acceptable standard in availability and this should be aspired to by all involved.
Anyhow those who defied the conditions to stay and play did the Club proud and at half time led by 2-12 to 1-2 with the assistance of a gale force wind and driving rain.
When we got another goal after the half time whistle I couldn't stick it any longer and bolted for home. Our Finn who stood for the duration informed me that we won handy.
There will be harder tests.
We won by 4-15 to 2-8 in the end and this is a fair reflection of what I witnessed myself during my stay there
The team
Owen Smith
Alex Walshe Tomas Conroy
Stefan Clarke Oisin Martin 0-1 Jamie Leavy
Conor Mc Kenna Lukie Martin 1-3
Eoghan Daly 0-1 Mark Kane 0-4.3 frees Mickey Dowdall 1-0
Peter Casey Jack Brady 1-5
Introduced, .S Gartland 1-0,C.Coffey,A.Casey. .
We must have a record number of selectors for a Dunderry team.
Garret Dooley is Manager.Selectors are Stephen O Rourke,Eric Murray,Trevor Conaty,Paddy Darcy and Paddy Gorey as far as I know...between two and three players per selector.
Moynalty is up next in football.
I know that a number of players who did play have the talent to make it at a higher level..
The question is whether they have they the attitude, dedication and determination to do so.
The next match will tell its own story.

A Tinkers Tale
Last Friday night I had to give a miss to the Dunderry Div.3 League Final against Syddan to attend a class reunion at which guys I hadn't met for 40 years were present.
The do was held in Brady;s in Dunboyne,a great pub as it turned out.As I was parking outside the pub a very pregnant tinker woman came to me and told me that her cousin had committed suicide ,was being received into Dunboyne Church and she had no money to get home to Maynooth.,Could I give her the fare.
Always a sucker for a hard luck case I gave her a tenner.
I watched her and saw her hand it to a guy hidden in a doorway who promptly went into an off licence and buy wine with it.
Well fuck you said I.Never again.
The following morning I had to go to Dublin and decided to get the Dublin bus from Navan,On the way to the bus stop I had to stop to take a stone out of my shoe. Those who know me well would know that I am fairly disabled after a stroke and have very limited mobility.
I had to find a shop front and sit down on the cill to put my leg sideways to remove my shoe and remove the stone.I was getting it hard to put the shoe back on and fasten the Velcro to move on.
And the only person to stop and fix me up was another tinker."See ya soon Daithi"said he,
Well fuck me pink.

Burial of Ashes of Seamus Smith.
When I went to the Church for 11.00 a.m. Mass on Sunday it was full of Smiths .It dawned on me that it must have been time for the burial of his Ashes,as he had gone to a Crematorium instead of the graveyard after his funeral Mass.
And so it turned out to be.
A good crowd went down to the graveyard after Mass including me fein.
For the record the ceremony is precisely the same for the burial of ashes as it is for remains.
May God have mercy on his soul.

Death of Seamus Cregan.Dunderry.
Sheamin from Tullaghanstown died last night in his sleep. He got his wish in this as he told our Finn in a recent visit that he wished to go this way.
I knew that the writing was on the wall when he failed to attend the Champoinship replay last Saturday,a game he would miss only if entirely unfit to attend.
He was at the drawn game but looked awful and one just knew he had but little time.
This 80 year true blue Gael and fanatical Dunderry GAA man was one of a diminishing number of survivors of his generation who knew what real hardship was and whose values were impeccable.
In the game of life ,the most important game of all ,he played a blinder and will be feted for eternity in the company of the Referee of all the ages .
His sole surviving sibling is Angela and she too is under pressure.
All here sympathize with her and all belonging to him.,especially his nephews and nieces.
Ar dheis De go raibh a hAnam Dilis.
His remains will be reposing in Fitzsimonses Funeral Home,Navan from 2.30 p.m.to 6.30 p.m tomorrow Sunday thence to Dunderry Church to arrive at 7.00.pm.
Funeral Mass is on Monday at midday -12.00a.m and burial at Dunderry graveyard ,where as I write this a massive crowd of neighbours and friends are digging his grave in accordance with long established tradition.

The line of Life.
The tinker woman was in bad form. The country people had no money themselves never mind enough spare stuff to to help her out.
In this frame of mind a countrywoman asked her could she tell the future."I can hardly tell the time never mind the future"said she."
"I'll give ya thruppence if ya do."
"OK so.There's the line of life and there's the line of sorrow and if you fail to shite today you'll surely shite tomorrow."

DUNDERRY 0-12.COLMCILLES 0-12
T.J will have to put his kacks on hold for another week. The replay is next Saturday. And our bad luck in training continues.Marty Garry tore his calf muscle at training last Friday. That's Finn,O Shea and Marty out of commission.Surely worth more than one point were thery playing.
This is not a match report ,just a summary.
Reilly their County player got gate after 2 minutes,a straight red.He struck Conor Dempsey and the sideline man nailed him.
The ref.had no option, but if the Mc Entees want to put more steel into County footballers they will have to start with the referees who are all devotees of the Eugene Mc Gee school of gentility. Not a sign of dirt in the game even.
Were a genie to grant us a wish we would have looked for Graham Reilly to have an off day,not to be sent off.But off he was sent anyhow and will miss the replay.
Despite this they led by 6 ponits to 4 at half time and could have snatched it with a missed free towards the end.
We are stubborn sons of bitches and don't know how to lose.
The Gods are on our side and our ducks are lining up.DO NOT WRITE US OFF.
I was in the disabled compound.Seamin Cregan was there too in a wheelchair. He was sprung from the Mater for the day.He is well with it and had a steady string of Gaels visiit him during and after the game.
He once said of a poor Dunderry player "Take him off and put no one on "in a match where we had no subs.
He remarked today that Colmcilles had no one over them after they substituted their number 10 who was playing well. Not so slow.
Francie Tuite, surely Dunderry's oldest living player was there. The whole of Dunderry was there and every Dunderrian within driving distance.
The flags and banners and signs and bales of black and white silage are there for another day.
Come on Dundrry.

True Blues.
I don't know where this phrase originated .I understand it to mean an unflinching loyalty to whatever or whoever you are are involved with.I prefer to think it was coined for supporters of the Dubs.but doubt it.
I take loyalty seriously.
The first thirty years of my life were spent as a ultra loyal member of St.Brigids GAA Club ,Blanchardstown, the next thirty as a fanatical supporter and worker for Dunderry GAA Club.
I cannot understand how anybody suckled in the ambiance of his /her Club can be disloyal or turn their back on that Club.
Certainly some people inveigle their way into GAA Clubs from time to time who ,beneath appearances of loyalty are really nasty bits of stuff and cause the Club harm by alienating far more loyal members by subterfuge .
That is why I rage when we fail to field teams in competition or when members with a track record of good service are given the bum's rush.
Anyhow we in Dunderry still produce the truest of blues,or more accurately back and whites .
Eamonn Kane ,a man whose antestors were steeped in the Gaelic game and what it stands for ,plied his football skills with Robinstown until their sad demise because of lack of players.
He straight away transferred his loyalty to the overarching Parish team Dunderry and his son Mark has fought his way into the starting fifteen for Sunday as far as I know.Certainly he has figured in most of the matches he was available for.
It is true to say that his Ma and Da haven't missed a match and are fierce proud of him.As well they should be.His sister Ashling is in Australia this while back but follows Dunderry avidly on Social Media.
Well his wife's sister Lorraine went of to Aus. to visit her niece a few weeks ago and intended to stay for a good holiday.
When Dunderry won the semi final she decided to cut her holiday short and come home for the Final.
Eamon went to Dublin Airport to collect her during the week.
When he was waiting he met Marty Garry at the same gate.Marty is playing all year too."And what brings you here "says Eamonn."I'M collecting T.J."said Marty."I thought T.J .had just flown back to Aus.after a holiday at home just a few weks ago"said Eamo."He has indeed ,but no way was he going to miss the Final on Sunday".
Well" Holy God" said Eamo as they all head towards home together.
"Hauld up Dad "said a female voice as the walked away and looking behind he sees His daughter Aisling catching up.She wasn't due home for yonks.
Eamo is one happy man and Dunderry is one privileged Club.
By 3.30 next Sunday the Showgrounds will be choc a block with Dunderrians. And I know that those abroad who plied a their trades with us and love the green grass of home will be there in spirit .
My heart goes out to our Finn and Conor O Shea, who busted themselves on the field of play to get this far and who are unable to play because of injury, especially Finn who has laid it on the line for the Club for over 25 dedicated years.
Conor is young enough to recover and play for decades.Time is not on Finn's side.
The experts favour Colmcilles.I favoured Walterstown against Colmcilles in the semi after watching the first half and boy was I wrong.
We are fit and it is all on the day.We need every man to play to his potential.
With T.J.home I fully expect to see a streaker run from Flanagan's to Horans and Geraghty's at midnight Sunday with a Dunderry flag wrapped around his.............head.

Death of Lisa Brady,Black Road.
Just a short while ago I wrote of the untimely death of Alan Brady of the Black Road,Robinstown ,at the tender age of 66 years,I believe. He was my second cousin.
In my tribute I sympathized with his immediate family including his daughter Lisa on their loss.I also said that life had thrown many curve balls at them in their lives and that they had bravely faced up to these misfortunes and got on with it,or words to that effect.
I sympathized with Lisa ,who I didn't know well ,at that time and little imagined that the Man above would be calling her home so soon after the death of her father.
Well He has as she has recently died at the tender age of 32 years..Of pneumonia if rumour is to be believed .
Now I didn't know Lisa well but would have kept in my head any information that came my way concerning her and her progress through life.
I understand that she had leukemia for many years but thought she had it bet.I know that she got poorly from time to time but never let it get her down and battled hard to restore her health and spirit.
I know that she qualified as a teacher, despite her illness and taught in Kilbride of this Parish for two years approximately and I think Robinstown as well.
I know that she was and is highly thought of by all who met her in these environments.Alan idolized her.
I know that between illnesses at one stage she joined O.Mahony's Camogie Club to stay fit and get exercise in a pleasant environment ,where she befriended my daughter MAGS ,who happens to be her cousin although I doubt if this ever struck them.
I know that she went to school with my niece Laurie Stephens and was a friend of Louise Byrne another niece. They are all in the teaching fraternity.
I know she was a peach of a girl from the few meetings we had.
And I know full well that her mother Margaret and her brother David must be beyond grief with this turn of events.AS indeed must be all her uncles ,aunts ,cousins ,relatives and a multitude of friends.
Ar Dheis De go raibh a hAnam Dilis.
My heart goes out to them.
The funeral Mass is tomorrow at 10.00 a.m.in Saint Mary's Church in Navan with burial after wards in Dunderry Graveyard.

Death of Seamus Smith
Seamin Smith of theYellow Walls,Dunderry died during the night on Thursday last.He wasn't well this while back and I'd say that his death was a happy release in ways.It is rumoured that he outlived his doctor's expectations. He died at home surrounded by his extended family who were in constant attendance for many days prior to the time of his death, which can't have been easy for them as he went down hill rapidly towards the end.
He was predeceased by his brother Peter the Tank Smith of Yellow Walls who died at a young age and his sister Alice Yates of Birmingham,England.
He is survived by his Brother Owen of the Yellow Walls,Maureen Collins ditto,Nuala Mc Govern,Athboy and Peggy Young,Mulingar.all of whom wereat his funeral and wake.
He is also survived by a huge number of nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and an impressive number of in laws.
I went to visit him a fortnight ago and while he was mentally fully with it,he was clearly living on borrowed time .
His late father was a dedicated and serious Old IRA VOLUNTEER in his day and was one of the brave men whose efforts led to Ireland's freedom.
Ar Dheis De go raibh a hANAM Dilis.
He is being waked at home today Saturday from 4.00 p.m to 9.00 p.m and tomorrow from 2.00 p.m.to 6.45 p.m when his remains will be brought to Dunderry Church to arrive at 7.00 p.m.
His funeral Mass is on Monday at 11.00 a.m.with cremation afterward at Mount Jerome Cemetery .
Seamin was a great neighbour and his word was his bond.If he said he would give you a hand at 8.30 a.m.he would land at 8.15 no problem.
When he and me were able to take a decent drink we shared a few from time to time.He was good company and always stood his round.
He emigrated to England as a young man and married there and had a family there.Seemingly that marriage broke up and he returned home for good decades ago .One of his daughters of that marriage was at his funeral.
The Church was packed to overflowing at the arrival of his remains on Sunday evening and was full to capacity at his Funeral Mass on the Monday.
Amongst the Offerings were his walking stick,a copy of the Farmer' Journal and a Dinky tractor to show his affinity to the soil and a Jersey from the now defunct Dunderry Tug of War Team of which he was a dedicated supporter in his younger days.
A 52 seater bus brought the mourners to Mount Jerome for the cremation after the Funeral Mass and refreshments were provided in Geraghty's Bar and Lounge after wards.
The Smiths know well how to look after their own, that's for sure.
The man will be missed.

Dunderry V TRIM .I.F.C.Quarter Final 24/09/2016
This eagerly anticipated match between intense local rivals was played before a large crowd in Athboy at 5.30 on a wet Saturday evening .There was torrential rain most of the day but it had ceased somewhat just before kickoff time.Such was the crowd that the extremely affable and courteous Athboy officials had to cordon off the training pitch behind the Kells end of the pitch to avoid destruction of it and sinking of vehicles. Many had to leave their cars outside the grounds .
Ttrm deservedly came into this match as favourites for a multiplicity of reasons, mainly because of our injury crisis and the stumbling onwards nature of our campaign to date. There was also the fact that you don't know just how strong the other divisions are.Personally I was not over confident and turned down a fifty Euro bet earlier in he day,Bigger fool me.
We lined out as follows-.
Jennings
A.Newman Spongee Dempsy --Peanut.
Red. Swiss Marty Garry
Dempsey Liamie Kenneally Paddy
S.Coogan Lukie Martin M.Kane
Bomber Simon Carty A.Watters
Subs used. C.HarteJordan Martyn,S,Maguire,D.Mahon.
Considering the rain spilled for the previous 24 hours the pitch held up well. But the ball was like a bar of soap and it was slippy enough.
Watters played as a sweeper for us and the Trim Manager, former Dunderry player Maurice Power, set his team up likewise. There were two men only up front each side and the middle third of the pitch was choc a block with players. There was a plenitude of short passing in the cramped middle as both teams bode their time to let a long ball into the first inside forward to get a few feet on his opponent. The conditions didn't suit this type of play and a good few passes went astray at vital moments. On balance we were more adroit at the passing but still scores were as scarce as hen's teeth. After 20 minutes there were I think maybe just 5 points on the score board with feck all between the teams.
Inter County Referee Cormack Reilly did his job in full accord with the Eugene Magee school of abhorrence of even the threat of physical contact or manliness and flashed a black card on one of the Trim players which tilted the game very much in our favour. In a game of ballet with skiddy ball ,completely without rancour ,he flashed yellow cards at will and wrote copious notes all over the place ,interrupting the flow of play completely.Against both sides I might add.I have no doubt that he operated fully under the rules in what I don't recognize as Gaelic Football at all and I played all my active life.
Is there any chance at all that Hurling only Referees can be appointed to football matches in future, applying hurling rules only ,including the upcoming All Ireland replay ,in order to save the game of football before it is destroyed entirely.
Anyhow the turning point came when S,Coogan slipped his marker and with consummate skill and aplomb stuck the ball in the net ten minutes before the half time whistle. We were never again to be headed.
No one stood out above the other in the first half ,Coogan excepted, and we fought hard communally for every ball allover the pitch.Frankie Murphy was lording it at midfield and causing us problems but Liamie and Paddy did enough to keep us in contention.
We went in on a scoreline of 1-4 to 0-3.
After the break Trim whittled away at our lead and I was worried when they hauled us back to a lead of a point. And then following a freakish goal from a longish ball by Bomber all changed. In truth the Trim rearguard was susceptible to quick high ball.Bomber is a big lad and hard to handle and had the measure of his opponent all of the time and the handling of their goalie was somewhat suspect.
Buoyed by the change of fortune we forged ahead and Trim panicked.Where heretofore we were hitting wides our confidence soared and the points started to go over.Passes that were previously going astray started to find their mark and we grew in stature.
The converse happened with Trim.
You write Dunderry off at your peril and we won pulling up.
Scorers .Cougar 1-6 (5 frees),Bomber 1-1.Carty 0-1.Harte 0-1.
It is a tribute to our defense that Trim were confined to 0-7 in an hour's football.
On a personal level Eoin Kelly is a son in law of mine, a decent man and a Trim man through and through. No one has trained harder nor breached the pain barrier more than he in their cause. He is in the last chance saloon age wise and this may well have been his last appearance ,even on the bench.
I find it disrespectful to him not to have given him some playing time in this game and hope we in Dunderry would have the cop on to give any player we had in a similar position a run as a matter of respect.
Again this is none of my business but there you are.
As far as I know it is Ballinabrackey in the semi and then the winners of Walterstown and Saint Colmcilles in the Final.
Don't rule us out.The football Gods are with us.
The half seven Mass in Dunderry on Saturday was for Molly,Tommy and Joe Mc Cormack and the deceased members of the Mc Cormack family,Dunderry fanatics all.I missed the Mass as I was unwell but Finn who got it tswears that a cheer went up halfway.
I don't doubt him.

Saturday 24th Sept 2016.Destiny DAY for Dunderry Gaels.
The only team that Dunderry Gaels have at Senior Level is the Hurling Team ,which tells its own story.
Both the Intermediate Footballers and the Intermediate Camogie Ladies are facing their destiny on Saturday.
The Ladies field at 1.00 p.m.in Trim against Boardsmill in the Final.
History of sorts has already been made by this Team as we have never figured in an Intermediate Final before.
We did play at Senior level before ,I'd guess around 1989 when we got there by winning the Junior Championship, there being no Intermediate Championship at the time.
Boardsmill will be expecting to win this as all their home born players have transferred back from Trim to push their native Club over he line.
My perspective is different however. In 2009 an under 14 Dunderry Team beat Na Fianna in a B.final after a massive contest.Na Fianna have since established themselves as credible Senior contestants.
That Dunderry Team is the bedrock on which the present Team is built.Since then we have had a multitude of very successful underage teams and have produced many extremely talented players to augment those girls.
In fact it is a bit like Kilkenny hereabouts as on any given day you could meet several girls with All Ireland medals in the bag.
Although we are denied the services of Labaoise Martyn,Tara and Rebecca Scanlon and some others I would be surprised to say the least were we not to land the Laurels in this vital Final.
G.T.Troy, supremo in recent years, and our own selectors Evelyn Griffin and Tracey Fitzsimons carry a huge responsibility in their hands on Saturday to produce the goods and I have no doubt and a huge expectation they will select a winning team.
Oremus.
The Intermediate Football team play old adversaries Trim in Athboy at 5.30 I think in the quarter Finals of the Inter Football .
We have been unsuccessfully trying since 2005,when I was Manager,to return to Senior ranks.
Men of considerable experience ,some as inter county selectors, some who played that year ,have tried since to steer our footballers back to Senior and failed.
These included Tommy Dowd,Barry Callaghan ,Stephen O Rourke ,all of whom had a cut for a few years each and failed to advance .
In fact Sean Kelly had a cut at keeping us up prior to 2005 but threw his hat at it,so all of the guys who took the job on since 2005 have had the benefit of his considerable coaching nous.
This would include present Manager Kevin Dowd who recently managed the Hurlers back to Senior status and is trying for a double of sorts.Together with his backroom team of Mickey Molloy ,who was a neat wing back in his day,Lee Mulligan ,whose playing career was cut short by injury and fellow Dub.Paudie Brady .And of course former inspirational colossus Phil Fay,we have just about stumbled through from match to match.
Our cause hasn't been helped by the career ending injury to our Finn and the recent breakage ,as far as I know ,to Conor O Sheas ankle. Both these guys made huge contributions to getting us here in the first place.I don't know whether the injury Lukie Martyn got with the Meath Hurlers has fully mended.
I do know that there is always very little between Trim and ourselves in recent years.
I also have observed that the form of out two County men,Simon Carty and Paddy Kenneally is not of the standard I would expect from County men,and suspect that their confidence has been adversely affected by the lack of match practise the got with Meath .
However the few matches they got with Dunderry lately has brought noticeable improvement and this will need to be ratcheted up considerably if we are to win on Saturday.
Of course two men do not a team make and the ordinary less heralded club players who slog it out for the club all year around cannot be forgotten and it is to these we look for inspiration in the main.
Here's hoping.
Of course were things right there would be a double header of both matches at the one venue on Saturday.

Bruton's evidence on Jobstown incident telling.
If ever there was a location where Labour ,with it's policies supposedly designed to cater for the working classes and the less fortunate in Society ,ought thrive ,it is Jobstown in Tallaght.
The fact that the former Leader of the Labour Party and former Tanaiste is giving evidence with a view to securing a criminal conviction against a local youth for events surrounding a demonstration in protest against the Policies of the Government of which she lead as second in command is indicative of the massive gulf that existed between her and her fellow T.D.,and Senators and the type of people she claimed to represent.
I have long been of the view that the Labour Party has long since been hijacked by a self styled elitist intelligentsia ,who pay only lip service to real Labour ideals ,but self servingly use it to advance the Liberal agenda they so dearly love and adore.
They have been to the fore in advancing the notion that there is no difference in the marriage of a man to a woman and the situation where two persons of the same gender share sexual and other propensities, when there clearly is .
Likewise their eyes are bulging to attain a situation where the killing of the defenceless unborn becomes normal practise amongst all classes .One suspects that this would be more used amongst the academic classes who dictate policy to the working drones, as they are much cleverer than ordinary beings and bridle at the very thought that a God could exist who might be superior to themselves and the taking of life is therefor of no consequence.
The electorate wised up to this nonsense and decimated the Labour Party in the last election bringing its vote down to near the level of support it has amongst those pushing its Liberal Agenda ,but has not reached that nadir yet due to the traditional support of a declining core of true Labour supporters who haven't yet abandoned ship.
Id say that these few remaining supporters are watching avidly the evidence being given by Joan in the Court case against the youth involved involved and as the evidence she offers demonstrates the vast gulf in experience between herself and the academic and superior classes she habituates and that of ordinary decent working class and put upon people that She certainly does not represent.
