The best sermon ---- EVER.

Father Mc Carthy ,late of this Parish ,gave the briefest and best sermon I ever witnessed during the divorce referendum many years ago.As I recall it the referendum called for a yes vote if you wished to vote for the introduction of divorce and a no vote if you wished the constitutional ban to stay in place.As I  recall it also a letter from the Hierarchy was to be read out at all Masses the Sunday beforehand stating the Church's position on the matter.
Fether Mac got into the pulpit,waved the canonical missive and said"It's like this ,if you believe in the law of God you will vote NO but if you want to suit yourself you will vote Yes".
