"Me father said that he got a new pipe and to give this one to you .""He says its a great pipe."
"Tell your father thanks and tell him I said  if it was any good he wouldn't give it to me."

Such was the  message delivered by my uncle Joe to Auld Mac's friend Kit Brierty's and the friend's response sixty years ago or more.
They remained firm friends until death separated them.
When they met up in a hardware store after the friend's wife had her one and only son after a long and hard campaign he suggested to Auld Mac that he might buy something for the baby."And what could you buy for a new baby in a Hardware store?
"A wheelbarrow " he said."The wife could use it as a pram and when he gets older he can use it himself to make a few bob."
