Ex Camogie Players on rampage.

Certain ladies who I formerly coached in the skills of Camogie were on the rampage in Dunderry tonight.
It seems that older and more experienced Camogie players don;t just go away. Some at least take up Badminton and do well at it.
Suzanne Kelly, Lorraine Thornton,Tara and Collette Rowan Caroline Duffy,Rachael Doherty (so much of her that is left in any event ) former players of this Club, joined by Ceilia Murtagh who used ply her trade with the Yellow furze and John Brady's delightful wife Orla Crocock, were looking for a pig to roast after winning the Div.8 Badminton League in a match where they did beat Trim on Friday evening.
Realising that the last vestiges of the pig were long gone they settled for tay and sandwiches in a prolonged pub crawl involving Horan's and Geraghtys, where I am told they danced on the tables under the gaze of manager Mark Nolan, husband of another Camogie veteran Eunice O Brien.
Susan Mulligan another veteran chick with a stick plys  her badminton very successfully with Sryrne ,I believe and I have no doubt that her sister Anne (Walker ),who lives in Scotland would also excel at the game were she available.
Another Dub.in exile here ,Maura Walshe a mustardseeder  who has gone nearly fully native, was missing from the celebrations on the night, having excelled at the rackets during the year.
Had she been there I have no doubt but that she would have ensured a more ladylike and civilising tone to the raucous celebrations. She keeps reminding me that it is up to us Dubs to set a good example to these Dunderry heads.
History was made last week when a second adult Camogie team fielded against Drumree and Lettie played both on the goal line and further out the field.
I am looking forward very much to next Monday evening when the Club I founded and nurtured,Dunderry, takes on Navan O Mahuony's in Navan in the Intermediate Championship.
Our Mag,now in her 39th year, forced to transfer from the Club she graced as both administrator and player by a particularly nasty piece of hatefulness, will play for O Mahony's against her former team mates all of whom she either played with or brought into the game.
I expect nothing other than a sporting encounter and no vindictiveness and know that no true Gael would stoop to that.

NNBB.Game postponed.until a later date.
