Now that her only son has come out of the closet and declared that he is a homosexual ,the penny finally drops ,as it were,on why she is so vehemently oppose to the teachings of the Catholic Church on the matter of homosexuality and a myriad of other matters.
She presumably expects it to change its position on this and other issues to fit neatly into her personal situation. Thanks be to God the Catholic Church is a universal institution and is not as supine as the political parties and intimidating paper and electronic media excuses for reportage that passes here and the Church very properly takes a principled stand on the matter of the sacredness of the traditional family.
Some idea of the sort of intimidation that supporters of the no side can expect if the change to the Constitution is passed can be gauged from the bullying that was inflicted on a caller to Live line who objected to the display of a four storey unauthorised mural in the H.Q.of homosexual Ireland designed by its author to support the yes vote, who had a caller from England call her a homophobe and demand she not be given airtime at all.
And then we had others try to ridicule her and make out it was art and art only. And another little shit demand her to say whether she thought a picture of two men kissing revolted or disgusted her.
She properly refused to answer.
Were I asked I would answer that I do find such scenes revolting and don't want to look at them. But hey if it is passed presumably there are those who want them forced on us as it were.
Of course what homosexuals who are consenting adults lawfully do in the privacy of their own homes are private matters as are the moves of heterosexuals.
Am I correct in remembering that the unfurling of a banner objecting to the presence of the Quinn of England to Ireland by the father of Celtic player Stokes from his public house resulted in a deluge of pet media abuse being heaped on him and visits from the Gardai and the City Council and whatever you are having yourself.
And no constitutional campaign in place.
Now we have homosexual women Senators applauding their banner.
Yep these people are above the law,not like the rest of us.
And finally that arch anti Catholic bigot Vincent Brown must be rubbing his hands in delight now that he has intimidated and sneered at Catholicism so long that people are afraid to even say on his Show that they intend to vote no.,as was the case last week when only three of a few hundred people at a Kildare venue volunteered that they were of that disposition.
I will never forget the spitting out of the word "sheep " as a denigrating of people such as me who are lay Catholics by him at his insulting and vindictive best.
As another know all John Crown diplomatically referred to an idea or a man whose view he opposed on radio recently a right "bollix ".
And of course the political heirs of those that took 77 recent comrades from jail and murdered them without trial in 1922 are living up to their tradition by again misusing their authority to get on side those Yankee companies they pander to ,to interfere in Irish politics and agree to denigrate the tried and trusted family definition .Boss Croker's reference to a good .. staying bought springs to mind.
Not content with evicting their own people a la Cromwell.selling off large tracs of the country to foreigners, stealing our water frrom us,imposing the will of a bullying and hateful EU illegal dictat on austerity that has caused huge hardship and premature death and forced economic emigration and continues to do so ,the united political class has now enrolled and given centre stage to those we grant favourable Tax rates free licence to interfere in our domestic policies.
Banana Republic is right.
