Kilkenny worthy winners,

As long as I can remember Kilkenny were the bees knees in Hurling.Tipp and Cork run them closest but whatever it is about Kilkenny they are simply the best.
Galway gave it a right good rattle but just couldn't last the course.
The experts on the Sunday Game this evening failed to select the best hurler Galway has produced for decades on the team of the year and if Joe Canning is not first choice ,bar none ,of the men you would select in any hurling battle then I don't know who is..
It is gratifying to know that three Presidents of the GAA lodged concurrently under the roof of Nan Coffey of this Parish a number of years ago while conferring on affairs as Gaelige.
The current man Aodhgan O Fearraghail,Joe Mac Donagh and Kilkenny man Nicky Brennan lodged there while brushing up on their Irish.
The present man stands out head and shoulder as the most appealing man for the job in recent years.
On a personal note I am sad to see that Jimmy Barry Murphy has resigned as Cork manager,Apart from the pure pleasure he gave to all genuine hurling people as a player he has had to stand into the gap and elevate Cork hurling from the morass into which Donal OG Cusack O Hailpin   and their insufferable and his big headed contempories  had dragged it.
I wish him well .
