Womb Raiders in full spite

Listen to the screeching womb raiders  in their well modulated and predominantly non Irish tones as they clamour to over ride the rights of the innocent unborn and propose to leave the termination of the unborn to the mothers alone.Like in England where they should head to immediately.
Can someone explain to me how it is kosher to kill a functioning life in a womb but not ok to kill the same functioning life a day or two later when he/she is born.
Were you a preborn being human whose side would you be on.
Think about it.
And Sinn Fein are showing their true colours at last.

The wisdom of Loman.

The recent death of Larry Hagman of Dallas fame has sparked a memory of the spake of Loman Cregan, late of this Parish at the time when the question "who shot J.R." was on every body's lips in a more innocent era.
Loman had absolutely no interest in television nor Dallas.Like another friend of mine the Forsyth Saga could be "The Fords of Saggart" as far as he was concerned.
A lovely man ,he was a farmer and loved football and a nice pint when he could get it.
He was having a few sociables in Horans one Sunday when the Gun Club people landed back after a shoot. The conversation was about the poor shooting of all involved in the shoot and the need for improvement.
Afew Yanks strayed in and after a while engaged in conversation with Loman. They eventually asked him did he know who killed J,R.
"I don't but I am fairly sure nobody from Dunderry Gun Club did"said he.In total good faith of course.

RTE and Callan plumb new depths in bad taste.

A fella called Murray has a filler show on RTE Radio between 9.00 sand 10.00 on weekday mornings.Aside from the obvious effort the host puts into sounding like a hail fellow well met, it is usually harmless enough.
But this morning it plumbed new depts in bad taste, even for RTE.
Not even slightly contrite from lying about a priest and wrongly branding him a child molester and also skewing the Presidential debate to favour their obvious liberal candidate Higgins, the station  continues to sneer at those they deem unworthy.
Some twit called Callan did the most cringe worthy and unfunny piece of garbage that was ever inflicted on any audience anywhere on a man languishing in jail on the run up to Christmas,Sean Quinn Senior.
Devoid of wit, twisted in delivery and warped in creation the gob shite who devised it has a sad excuse for a soul and the compassion of a frustrated scorpion.
What next.A skit on the burial of your grandmother as the funeral takes place.
What utter gutter rubbish.
Pity Galvin didn't give the little shit a good Ringsend uppercut.
Of course his co publisher in bad taste Murray and his crew hover also in the cesspit of hatefulness for letting it go on air.
Callan can bottom  it by skiting at the hanging ,drawing and quartering of say Oliver Plunkett. He should be down to that,

Dunderry V MIchaels U 21 B F.C,Final 24/11/2012

Martry is playable despite a hard night's frost that would render less natural pitches doubtful.A touch slippy but modern studs more than compensate.Bit cold but bearable.

Dunderry Team.

                                       Kenny Patterson

Shane Maguire                                                              Simon Carty

Conor O Shea              Eoin Dempsey                          J.P.Kenneally

                     Killian Minogue               Liam Dempsey

Conor Daly                Alan Garry                                 Comor Farrell

                    Stephen Coogan              Paddy Kenneally

Fir Ionad
Jordan Martin(injured hamstring)
James Mitchell
Brendan Wright,
Shane Mooney
Dylan Keenan
Chris Harrington

Selectors
Kevin Dowd
Darren Fay,
Damian Clarke,
Paul Govern.

Petes Cassidy,a Michael's selector and fellow internee with me in Navan Hospital some years ago, greeted me like a long lost brother ,telling me I was one of the fairest umpires he had ever met, even when my own team was involved and that as this view was universally shared in Calanstown , hoped I was umpiring today.Disappointed that I wasn't he was overjoyed when I wished him the best of luck .May the best team win.

The  ball is in the game is on.
Within two minutes Michael's register two minors, one from a free and one from play.Even now it is clear this will be no pushover .Bomber delivers to Coogan who hits wide.Liam D.fields well and to Paddy Kenneally who dances hither and thither before being dragged down.Coogan converts.
Midfield is a ding dong battle ,both sets vieing for dominance, neither getting their own way.
When we get possession, we don't waste it and the service to the full forward line is spot on.
Kenneally is dragged down again but Coogan misses.Garry cleverly engineers a goal, finished to the onion bag by Kenneally P.Stan's pencil stub leans heavier on his note book as he records it.The same man scores some point ,jinxing from midfield to a scorable position closer to goal.A fine score, but he is well supplied with good ball.Liam Dempsey is spreading his shoulders and playing intelligent football. We work the ball in and hit wide.Kenneally is  on fire and is fouled .Coogan converts.1-3 to 0-2.we are edging it all over the park.Daly to Paddy to Coogan .Point.John Paul is adjudged to have handled on the ground. They gratefully accept and tap over.
We spurn maybe two scorable chances  and them one.
WE shave the lower upright ,unfortunately on the wrong side.Michael's put on a sub and he goes down almost immediately. He too is substituted .Minogue score a fine point. They reply.1-5 to 0-4 for us.Octo delivers to Cougar who shoots over.Michaels pull back a minor from play. They are not panicking.
John Paul goes centre back and Ownie to wing half.Michaels now shave the post on the wrong side.Liam wins the kick out.ball goes astray and they hit wide.We were wide open.Lucky.Despite sterling defending they score from a free.We hit a point wide.Petse's son scores from play for the Michaels.Paddy misses from play.Carty breaks up a promising attack .We lead by two points as the half time whistle blows.
With the hill in the second half we should do it.
Garry goes centre half back and Eoin Dempsey on the forty.Coogan takes a quick free to Paddy K,who misses.Coogan has a go off a sixty yards free and it drifts wide.Garry hits wide from play.Kenneally converts a fifty. We going well.Michaels pull one back from play.Garry parts to Paddy.Wide.
Wright on for Maguire.Coogan hits a free wide.Michaels score one.And another.Level pegging.Who has the will and the greater hunger?Paddy edges us ahead from play. They score from a free. They get another.Liam soars to the clouds and to Kenneally hits a quick free to Cougar. He pounces.Point.Level again.Martin on for Daly.
Minogue stretches for the ball and to Cougar.Point.One up.Michaels miss an easy chance from play but take a pointed free.
My poor heart.
We miss a free. They miss one too. Then they edge ahead by one.No matter what the ref does he gets it in the neck. The game develops its own momentum. We attack and they defend.Carty goes walkabouts with the ball and is only arrested about forty five from their goal. Kenneally hits the upright. We throw the kitchen sink at them .They hold out. What a finish. The whistle blows. Our boys are near tears.
Bet one point. The same as champions Fianna beat us in the IfC.Level pegging with Rathmoylan in the IHC.They are now in the Leinster Final.Feck it.

Overview.
A hop of the ball.Busted ourselves. So did they. Two fine teams. Two committed teams.Maybe, just maybe the facile victories we had in the earlier rounds served us badly.
Everybody was a hero.Management included.A great voyage.
Congrats the Michaels.
Good referee and fair umpires and linesmen.
Shag it all the same.

Womb Raiders and O Higgins behaving disgracefully.

I heard the Prime Time interview with the Indian man whose wife died in Galway a few weeks ago.
I heard Vincent Brown on the issue two nights on the run.
I heard that woman from Waterford saying that inhumane practices were in place in Irish maternity hospitals .
I heard a RTE describing the current practices carried out in Irish hospitals as barbaric.
I heard Caoimin O Caolain saying that the Taoiseach himself should  appeal to the Indian man to co-operate with the tribunal as it is set up currently.
I heard the President of this country criticise the Government of this country from his jaunt to England.Does this man,who got the job because of the easy ride the National Broadcaster gave him, think he is Taoiseach or more importantly Tanaiste.Did he have Government permission to speak out like this .He is supposed to be above politics and he surely knows this,He is not supposed to take sides in matters political and he has enough advisers to know this.Or does he consider himself primarily the leader of "Spiritual "Ireland (read atheist for spiritual) first and President second?
Does he feel entitled as President, which is mainly a titular role ,to mouth off on whatever topic takes his fancy .Will he be called to heel .The Attorney is from the same neck of the woods as he is.Maybe ho could spirit his way there and suss out the limitations on his office and learn, difficult though it may be for him ,to keep his mouth shut.
I am no fan of the Government but I do think that the President should not be criticising them, especially when on State business.
I heard Vincent Brown sneer at an anti abortion guest on his programme that he was only "Sucking up "when he offered  his condolences to the Indian man and his family.
Only the pro life man was insulted in this way.Any pro abortion guests ,with whom he is so blatantly in sync, were not so insulted. This does not surprise me.This is the same Brown who wrote an Irish Times article saying that the Catholics Church was the repository of nearly all evil. The same Brown who I heard spitting out the word "sheep" to describe Catholics on his show. The old adage "What do you expect from a pig but a grunt"springs to mind.
Any man who loses his wife deserves sympathy. And remember we have only this man's side of the story. His main complaint was that he was not Catholic nor Irish and didn't want to be treated under Irish law, even though he was in Ireland.According to his mother she wants Hindu law to apply in Ireland.
Now let me get this straight. This man and his wife is one of about a half million people living here who was not born here.Nobody forced them to come here to live or work. One presumes they left India  to come here because they would have a better life here perhaps.Or make more money.Or avail of the far superior services available here than in India.Certalnly they and great jobs at a time when 80,000 of our own people are emigrating annually and when 15% of the population is on the dole.
Now this idea that people who are permitted to live here should not have Irish law   applied to them  is novel one .
There are over 100 different nationalities living here.On this logic we should  deal with the different nationalities according to the laws of the countries they left.I know of no country that does it.Do you?And if they love the laws of their homelands so much why come here in the first place.
Many Irish people would say that the reason we have so many foreign nationals here is because we are a handy touch and that our liberals think more of the guests than their own.
By the way,did you ever wonder why visiting is so restricted in Irish maternity hospitals. The real reason, and don't mind the plamas,is that when certain guest non nationals were in giving birth, and Ireland is a much desired destination for this purpose, that the husbands and children used come in and share breakfast ,dinner and tea and take full advantage of the  heat. The restrict visiting resulting discommodes everybody.
Now the rush to judgement that inhumane and barbaric practices are indulged in Irish Maternity hospitals must stick in the craw of every midwife and, doctor in the country. These dedicated ,kind and committed staff deserve far better than to be accused of working at and implementing barbaric and inhumane practices.Their accusers ought be ashamed of themselves, but there again its OK to sneer at your own.You get a cheap headline and you cannot be accused of racism.

For the record the rates of maternal deaths in hospitals are.
Ireland 6 in 100,000
England's 8.6 in 100,000
London 19.3 in 100,000
India 496 in 100,000.
It is estimated that 6.5 million people are aborted each year in India.
Id say there is no queue to enter Indian hospitals to give birth .Wouldn't you?
I'd say we have it right. Now the man said that he was fighting the fight for all women.Charity begins at home.
We have a sad history of emigration.I have never heard of our people going abroad and demanding that the host country should change its laws to suit us.I'd  say now that any  Irishman, illegally  in America ,that tried it on would be immediately shackled in chains ,jailed and have the keys thrown away.Or any other country worth its salt.
It is amazing therefor to have people who should know better pandering so cringingly to this man, bending over backwards to accommodate his every whim, and going so far as to demand that the Taoiseach personally beg him to co operate.Get a bleeding grip, would ya.We threw off the chains of subservience years ago and don't have to apologise to anyone for existing.
One thing you can be sure of and it is if this happened to an Irish person and it does, here wouldst be a word about it.
Of course the Womb Raiders got first call on this couples man's misfortune  and have milked it to the limit and gleefully and maliciously blackened the name of Ireland in the selfish pursuit of their long term strategy of abortion on demand.
Missing in this debate has been any mention of the rights of the preborn humans plucked from the uterii of the womb raiders. This is because they are dead. Relegated to the sidelines. And the womb raiders want the absolute right to kill any future preborns without any legal  consequence. This is what pro choice means..
And as for the misfortunate staff in the hospital who were involved.Their names are so sullied that they have absolutely no chance of ever getting fair play.
And lastly, theses pro choicers seem to have all accents bar an Irish one and names that are strange to our, heritage,or so it seems to me.
Yep we good enough to live amongst but really ought to change to their ways for our own good.Sound familiar.Or maybe I'm talking to the wrong experts as was so arrogantly put.

begins at home.

Sinn Fein loses soul

I have always had the height of respect for those Sinn Feiners who defended their own people when they were being murdered left ,right and centre by the forces of the Empire while simultaneously the Southern Irish State did in fact stand idly by.Institutional discrimination was rampant and just like what is happening to Gaza today ,where children are being murdered in a ghetto from which there is no escape, the United Nations and the United States wrung its hands but did Nada to help for decades.
It takes a very brave man to die by starvation in pursuit of his political beliefs.Such a man is infinitely more courageous than say,a man who remotely but in real time orders the murder of an unarmed man without due process.
Unlike the herd, lead by a totally biased RTE ,its agenda driven reporters , its groupies and out of control print media,I admire what they did in securing the peace.
This respect has totally dissipated with their jumping on the bandwagon with the Socialists ,pro choice lobbyists and Catholic haters trying to commandeer the limelight and doing their best to paint Ireland as a backwards hick country where pregnant  women are routinely murdered because of our properly restrictive practices that provides the optimum safety for mothers and children..
It is not backwards to value the  lives of humans above those of cattle.
In England where abortion is freely available on demand and where some medics  presign letters authorising the abortion of women they have never even seen, the comparative rates of maternal death in childbirth are :-

London.19.3 per 100,000
Rest of England 8.6 per 100,000
Ireland 6 per 100,000.
Why Sinn Fein and its fellow travellers on this issue would want to worsen the chances of Maternal death in Ireland  to that in England is beyond me.
I would say that every preborn child in the womb shivers in fright when these pro choicers pass within an asses gallop.
I can see now how the Marie Stop es murder machines  set up in Northern Ireland without a murmur from Sinn Fein.
The Catholic position which as I understand it,ethically approves the preservation of the life of the mother over the child ,when there is no chance of preserving the lives of both is the correct one.And one which I believe has application here in practise.
Kenny is right in this instance and the ethical equivalent to internment without trial by Sinn Fein is a sell out.
I hope Peadar Toibin has the courage of his convictions and stands his ground..

Trucker tipster under pressure.

The truckster is under severe pressure to deliver, having failed for three successive weeks to name even one winner.
His job is on the line to come up trumps this weekend.I understand that he is calling in several of his closest trucker friends for a brainstorming session this week to try and break his duck. With the country wide network of contacts available to them they should be able to deliver.
I hear that ex Brigid's footballer and Tolka trout fisherman Larko and runner Reid are on the panel.
I can hardly wait.

Some good done.

My highlighting of the disgusting disregard for stroke patients by the absence of a supply of clot busting medication in Navan Hospital when I got my stroke and nearly died but was left disabled for life ,resulted in the securing of the medication in  2010 and the availability of a doctor fit to make the call on its use.
A person.who lately experienced the benefit of its availability and walked out with no side effects has conveyed their thanks to me for highlighting the issue.
This begs the question. Why were people who got strokes before its availability treated as second class citizens and allowed die or left  severely disabled for life?
Who was responsible and how many lives were lost and people disabled.
Does anybody give a shit.Is there any accountability at all ?

China Blocks acess to Dunderry Drumbeat

Any democracy worth its salt allows free speech.Maoists are an active force in this country. As I write this some of my family are enjoying a Chinese takeaway, delivered by a Chinese family from a premises owned by the. entire family a few miles up the road.
Insignificant though my readership is,it is significant enough for the Chinese authorities to have examined its content and barred access to it in China.
Yep Irish socialists who are humiliating this Country by getting their European Godless friends to belittle our excellent maternal health rates and respect for all life, should get down on their knees every day and thank God that they live here and not in China. And the Socialist Party here should stop betraying this Country and humiliating us as a nation and direct their ire at their Socialist brethren in China for starters. One child policy and abortion on demand here too?
I was and am a fierce critic of the unjust and inequitable household charge.
Regrettably as I do not wish to be contaminated by association with Socialist Party that has such double standards and has jumped on the anti household charge bandwagon too  I will be paying it forthwith .The Irish devil I know is infinitely preferable to the Socialist devil who bans free speech.
My father was right .A Socialist is a fella or woman who has fuck all and wants  to share it with everybody.. And who denies free speech.
China I am keeping an eye on you and watching your fellow travellers here like a hawk.

Intimidation will not work with me.

A number of veiled threats  and personally abusive messages have been  received because of my views as expressed in this blog.
This will not silence me.Bullies don't scare me at all.
As ye will find out if ye keep it up.

Anti Catholoic Mob on the rampage again.

You would imagine that RTE and its pet commentators, who with one notable exception  are virulently anti Catholic, would have learned a lesson from the unforgivable wrong of falsely branding a Catholic Priest a paedophile .What a pity that the same Priest does not have the inclination nor the funds of Lord Mac Alpine to follow those that used the programme to abuse the priest ,the Church and the Vatican ,
But far from displaying even a semblance of balance the self same organisation and most of the printed media see an opportunity to stick the boot into Catholicism again and are leading a campaign of vilification against the beliefs  of 86% of the population and grasping at any straw to sustain the campaign of hatred.
The mob members and leaders include those who are confirmed atheists ,secularists as long it equates to State Atheism, professed opponents of Christian prayer and beliefs, wannabees who want to take the State to take over Christian Schools, demagogues whose rhetoric has popularised the desecration of Catholic Churches and relics, and ardent pro choice feminists whose aim is to deny the humanity of the children in their their womb and want societal approval and the normalisation of the killing of the child they are supposed to be nurturing as they see fit.To be clear this is exactly what pro choice means.
I am also sure that some of those supporting the out of control mob also include some who would be outraged if any medic refuse to miscarry a foetus which was beyond saving and caused the death of the mother as a result. As indeed anyone would.
But this is not the point.
This mob of agitators are behaving like animals and have abandoned all vestiges of decency and reason. They have taken the word of a grief stricken man and husband as final and have decided that an enquiry to establish the facts is surplus to requirements. This is totally the reverse of the presumption of Innocent until proven guilty ,which even Catholics are supposedly are entitled to. and which presumption applies to all even in a truly secular State.
The fact that the mob leaders are misusing this tragedy as a tool to further their own pro abortion agenda and humiliate this State in the eyes of the world is at least treasonous. But then again this is what you  would expect.
I don't know what happened in this case and uniquely agree with the Taoiseach on the need not to rush to judgement.
I would hope that those feminists ,male and female, would are trying to push this further before the facts are established ,would give more consideration to killing their own pre born children before they kill them than they are giving to the staff in the hospital in Galway..Maybe that is why they want absolute power to kill at a whim, the norm in many countries now in decline.
Anyhow in my opinion what brought these Catholic hater in to the streets was the word "Catholic" used in connection with the miscarriage. Were the words"Protestant,Jew,Muslim , Hindu.Marxist,Leninism,Maoist .Athirst" used I am sure that self same mob would be apologising for the understandable mistakes of the staff involved and not baying for blood and the opportunity to terminate more unprotected preborn human life in this Country.
Not satisfied with readily availability of abortion in England and Holland ,they won't rest until we introduce abortion mills here.
The dead lady's mother wants Hindu law governing abortion introduced here instead of Christian law..THE COMBINED OFFICIAL ANNUAL TOTAL OF ABORTIONS IN INDIA EACH YEAR IS HALF THE POPULATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND .THE COMBINED ANNUAL TOTAL OF OFFICIAL AND UNOFFICIAL ABORTIONS  THERE EXCEEDS THE TOTAL POPULATION OF IRELAND AT 6.7 MILLION.
IN 2005 ,THE LAST YEAR FOR WHICH STATISTICS ARE AVAILABLE, THE MATERNAL DEATH RATE THERE WAS 496 PER 100,000 COMPARED TO 6 PER 100,000 IN IRELAND ACCORDING TO THE WORLD  HEALTH ORGANISATION.
Perhaps the treasonous mob would rather take their chances in India than here.Have the courage of your convictions and off ye go lads and lassies .But stop belittling your own country on the world stage .
No wonder Mother Teresa made the poor of India her life's work.
As far as I remember she died  the same day as Princess Diana,.
I must also say that one of the most decent men I ever met is a Hindu.whose sense of family, including the unborn is exemplary ,so I am not anti Hindu.
Now those Doctors who profess to be unsure of the intent of the medical guidelines on the matter and say they need legislation would want to be very careful what they wish for.
If statute law is introduced for this area it seems inescapable that it should also have application to all areas of medical practise they are involved in.
Might I suggest that in this event the trickle of negligence cases which see the light of Court and are not settled on the steps of the  Courts ,will become an  avalanche.
A fair number of Doctors are arrogant in the extreme and so certain of their own infallibility that they wont brook any contradiction in their views.I suppose this comes from actually having the power of life and death over those in their trust.
When i was in Navan Hospital in 2009.two elderly nuns used come around the wards ,giving out Communion to those who wanted it,of which I was one.The nursing staff were generally fairly respectful towards the Sacrament but in my experience the Doctors were anything but.Maybe this was because there were a severe minority of Irish Doctors working there at the time. The point is that I wouldn't be sure that all hospital doctors would even have a clue what Catholic morality is.And it seems to me that such is the arrogance of many in the medical profession that many think they are more powerful than God ,even if He does exist.
There are of course many good and conscientious Catholic and Christian doctors ..Thank God.
Finally the selectivity of some politicians never ceases to amaze me.Those dismissive of the Supreme Court Judgement that the Government cheated  in the anti family amendment are suddenly waving a 29 year judgement  by the same Court as the new Gospel.
What a shower.
God Bless.

Trucker's Tip 17/11/12.

Try a fiver win on Grand Cruz in 2.35 in Cheltenham.
Might break our duck.

Death of Dermot Foley

Word has just filtered through that Dermot Foley ,Yellow Walls,Dunderry ,has  slipped away to Heaven's peaceful pastures after a period of suffering stoically borne. This most decent and shy man, whose Kerry accent would put many Kerrymen in the shade ,was loved by all who knew him, especially by his wife and family ,who nursed him at home through his final months ,weeks and days with a love that was awe inspiring.
We will prepare a fuller tribute later.
His remains arrived in Dunderry Church this (Saturday ) evening at seven and will depart on Monday after Mass at Noon to Dunderry Cemetery ,where the grave was dug today  by a massive crowd of neighbours and friends.
As a mark of respect a trophy giving ceremony due to take place in the hall by the Camogie Club was postponed to a later date.

Fair Dues to the Germans.

They have some priorities right. They pay mothers to stay at home and rear their children.Their own feminists would rather the Starte did it.
Here our Government, ardent feminists and liberal gogshites sneer at women who make this choice and the Government  penalises them when they reach pension age by denying them any credit at all for a job  well done.
No wonder 65per cent  of the populace didn't heed the body politic and didn't vote in the recent referrendum and 42% of those who did vote voteed against an amendment that only one of the politicians in the Dail opposed.
This despite that the body politic effectively cheated by spending over a million in public funds in favouring the yea side

Dunderry v Ballinabrackey u 21 B FC Semifinal 10/11/12.

My uncles were great men and fair men.Any attempt at bragging, especially by one of them to the others was ruthlessly cut down, especially if made in public. The better the put down the more the craic. One once bragged that he held the Red Meehan scoreless in a football match, the Red being a local and national legend. The put down was that he was an eejit,he wasn't marking the Red at all,but his brother ,who was useless.
This is the fourth time my Internet connectivity has broken off and I have a pain in my bollix losing tract ,The signal here is worse than brutal.
Here we go again.
Well probably the Red's brother was brilliant also, but you get the drift.Don't ever set yourself up for a fall.
Minogue did.He face booked that he would outplay Damian Carroll ,Ballinabrackey's county player and believe it or not he did.
Trim was in good nick with a warm sun dispelling the underlying cold as the following team fielded.

                                                            Patterson

Dempsey                                                                                                 Carty

Kenneally  J.P                                  Wright                                            Garry

                            Minogue                                        Dempsey L.

Martyn                                                Farrell                                          Daly

                          Coogan                                                Kenneally P.

O Shea had the flu and Maguire was injured. And we had a newly bibbed first aid woman.
Eamon Barry refereed .
The combined football nous of Dunderry ,Trim and Moynalty would meet their sternest test yet as Dowd,Fay and Govern marshaled their troops to try and reverse the result of last year's final.

The teams tested each other. We scored they drew level.we scored they drew level. Two points each.
Then a pattern emerged.Minogue and Dempsey were lording midfield.Anything they didn't catch they broke and we gathered. The backs stuck like limpets and the uncanny understanding that a team who plays together for a good while came to the fore.Much went through Dally who sprayed the ball to his team mates with radar accuracy. At least one foot pass was inch perfect. We were ON a roll and punished them well, not an easy thing to do.Unselfishly our score mounted. We got points .We got a goal.Kenneally was lethal and an injured Coogan was laser accurate. The ball was laid on for them and they are well fit to make it count and they did.
Barry was o.k and  trying to make a match of it maybe gave the benefit of the doubt to the Border men once or twice .One free he gave didn't draw universal approval and he moved it closer to goal. The free taker threw the ball to the ref.and a spectator said what the feck was that for.And another said "He wants the ref.to take the free as well".Still a bit of wit around.
Dempsey L.picked up a yellow for a tackle reminiscent of his uncle Martin's against Kildalkey in a SHC final years ago.More awkward than anything else, he is not malicious.
He took it in his stride and delivered an inch perfect pass to Kenneally which developed into the goal.
At half time we lead 1-8 to 0-5.
Even against the wind and a slight hill we look good. They need a good second half start. We score a minor from a Kenneally P ground free.He is getting hit harder, legitimately. He copes. The border goalie produces some miracle saves. We defend like Donegal and don't crack.Minogue has arms like an octopus and dominates his man.Coogan kicks a fifty. They score a goal.1-10 to 1-5.They can't capitalise and only add one more point in the remaining thirteen minutes.Shane Mooney comes on and scores later,Jordan Martyn limping off.
Mooney gets his first ever yellow.
Keenan comes on.
We win 1-14 to 1-6 .Not really tested.
Our Troika have a dilemma for the final.Do they change a winning team.

Why I am voting no in referrendum.

It has long been my contention that we are living in an open prison for this last decade and that the present Government and its groupies are increasingly trying to mould and shape us into a compliant and docile imitation of the former East Germany ,where individual rights were suppressed and where the State ,through the encouragement of informers .regulated all aspects of behaviour. The State's version was the only one ,free speech and open debate were stifled, inordinate power was given to Government agents ,religion was suppressed and derided, atheists and their ilk ruled the roost and the governing elite governed for the benefit of another power, the USSR.
The parallels with our present society is striking.
The Government are merely Kapos for the EU and the Troika. It represents their interests not ours.
We are lied to all the time.Remember the false promises about the plenitude of jobs if we voted for Lisbon .And remember we handed over more and more sovereignty to Europe at the urgings of the politicians and their fellow travellers.
Remember the pre election Pat Kenny debate when all the leaders promised to abolish evictions.
Remember the pre election promises locally from members of the existing government parties representatives to save Navan Hospital and how people got elected on that pledge.
Guess what .There is another rally tomorrow .Some word these people have.
Anybody who had been at the receiving end of action from the multiplicity of quangos and State sponsored agents who have unlimited power to interfere with you life or business will know only too well that unless you have the resources to employ the very best of legal people you have no chance of fair play.
Around here all the males I know who died by their own hand were self employed. This is hardly a coincidence.
The ultimate display of arrogance was perpetuated by Fianna Fail, the Greens and the remnants of the Progressive Democrats who unilaterally placed on the shoulders of the people of this country the debts of the supposedly regulated banks .These parties put us back forty years.
And the present crew have put us back another 20 so far.Tweedledum and Tweed dee is right .You step out and ill step in again is right. And I must say this .Any spokesman of any of the parties could step into any of the other parties and you would notice no difference.
Which is why they all agree on the yes argument on the referendum.
But the arrogance and derision the yes side have for their opponents is really sickening. And is not confined to the referendum.
First we have the so called practising catholic Taoiseach the aetheist Tanaiste breaking off relationships with the Vatican. Not enough money they said,But they still find enough money to grant aid the Orange Order ,a wholly sectarian lay organisation which has suppressed Catholics since it was founded .Has anybody counted the number of deaths it is responsible for.
Just yesterday we had the politically appointed ex judge Catherine Mac Guinness belittling those opposed to her as scare mongers and Conservative Catholics. And this is not the first anti CAtholic rhetoric she indulged in.On the day of the Hurling ALL Ireland final she had another go on the Marion Fiinnucane radio show where she belittled the going ons of Catholics after Mass. Her compatriot Sam Smyth backed her up,expressing the view that because Ronan Mullen ,a Catholic Senator backed the referendum, it clearly didn't go far enough.Whatever that means.Could it mean that Conservative Catholics should have their children taken away at birth.
With these condescending views towards their obvious opponents it is hardly surprising the there was civil war in the North for so many years. Not everybody took the soup ya know.
Hugh O Flaherty is presumably as well qualified to pronounce on these matters as she is.Is he too a scaremonger and conservative catholic and anyhow what is wrong with being a conservative Catholic;.
He says that there is absolutely no need for constitutional change.I believe him.
Now the derision that the present government parties have for ordinary people is all embracing.Let me put it this way.
At the very moment that the Japanese were bombing Pearl Harbour, their U.S,.ambassador was plamasing his counterparts that all was well.WE know the results.
At the very moment that the Quinns were going to Dublin for talks at the invitation of Anglo .Anglo;s appointees were on the way to take over the Quinn's businesses without their knowledge.See the parallel.Didn't they learn well.
Which probably explains why an Aussie was appointed the head honcho in Anglo. But there again the Chair is an ex f.g leader Dukes.
Now one should go back and see who the board of management of all the banks were prior to the balloon busting. You will see your fair share of ex political leaders and favoured civil servants.
Anyhow Brian Hayes has stated that anybody supporting the Quinns are either blind or misguided. This condescending and derisory statement smacks of arrogance and ignorance .Its a wonder that he didn't lend his expertise  to his government colleagues and tell them  that wasting over a million in unfairly favouring one side over the other was unfair and illegal. And he with the power and money of the State and all the legal experts at his disposal.Blind and misguided is right.
Some would call it cheating.
Now the sneaky and underhand way that the Government and all the parties have arranged it that your wage packet can be attacked for taxes th\at have nothing to do with employment ,e.g. property charges and whatever you are having yourself, shows a mentality that must have studied closely the tactics of the Japanese on pearl Harbour day.
All creatures need shelter and sustenance to survive,These kapos have attacked both.WE have people sleeping on the streets going hungry. If you did it to an animal you would be jailed.

The derision n the politicians display towards the populace is mirrored in the attitude of the yes side in the debates on the issue. Not once have I heard the yea side allow the no side to make their point uninterrupted. They constantly cut across them, threat them as idiots and assume the superiority that every ignorant demagogue displays towards his opponents.
In this the print media and electronic bask them up.This is no surprise as there wasn,t a peep out of their journalistic ancestors  when thousands s of children were wrested from their homes by judges on the reports of state agencies and charities like those now advocating a yes vote.
Let me get this right. This amendment is supported by charities concerned with children whose corporate ancestors were primary responsible for putting children into State care by state judges  and never looking into their welfare afterwards. They would have you believe that it was the fault of the parents because they had primary rights over the children,Now they want to remove these rights from parents in exceptional cases, which is not defined. Both they and judges will define what is an exceptional case.A stranger will decide what is best for the child.
And a politicians pledge on what is exceptional is worth Nada.Has no legal effect whatsoever.None.
Thea real agenda here is that these people are trying to promote culturally changes and using kids as cannon fodder.I heard  Fergus Finlay say that cultural change towards the way we treat our children is desirable.Well Fergus ,my siblings and I,my parents ,their parents ,my kids and my grand kids  were and  are brought up in loving families  as were thousands of million other Irish families over the millenia.I don't need knowalls like you deriding our rearing. And I certainly do not want to be like you and your cohorts and have your notion of cultural values shoved down my throat.
I firmly do believe that the parents are the natural and final arbiters regarding their children and I don,t trust the State nor any well paid charity head to decide what an exceptional circumstance is and take the place of the parents.
Given the track record of the Stare and judges and so called charities ,where after all this time, these matters are treated in secret away from the public eye I wouldn't trust them with the care of a hen, much less a human child,
History is on my side,.One decent judge ,by making unannounced visits has discovered major abuses of c children in state care in St.Pats.Yes the State does value children,.My arse/,And the State was so concerned about children in its care that it kept no centralised records of how many died prematurely in recent times.Well over a hundred if memory serves me.Yep great job done there.

Finally I look around me at kids I know taken  into State care.in the last decade. They emerged from the process different people all right.Far worse and mentally and physically scarred for the worst for life.
A resounding no for me.

U 16B Hurling Shield Final,Dunderry v Dunboyne /Donaghmore Ashbourne.

Before we get to the match itself I must share with ye my reaction when I saw the fixture.Surely ,said I, there is some mistake. Is it possible that the Parish of five hundred houses would be taking on the combined might of that vast swathe of housing and massive population from Dunboyne to Donaghnore and all areas in between. There must be a mistake said I.For a lifetime hurling has been steady in Dunboyne and Donaghmore.Sean Boylan.a hurler before he was a footballer, the immortal Brian Smyth, all the Reillys,ex comrade Colm Brennan, the Moyleses,My good friends Ciaran and Teresa Clinch and son and daughters, the Hutton's,the Mac Intryes, dedicated hurling people all.And that's just a few.Is it possible that hurling has sunk so low that only one team from this entire area is competing in a B Shield Final against us.Talk about David against Goliath.
Yeah ti's true,Not  only that but Drumree are joined  up with Blackhall and Wolfe Tones with Kells. in this vital age group. So from Kilcock to Ardcath and Navan to Kigscourt we have 3,yes 3 hurling teams under 16.My God this is unbelievable. And I hear Navan is joined up with Donaghnmore in underage Camogie.
Looks like this generation will consign hurling in Meath to the dusty pages of history. What a disgrace.
And no red flags raised at Club,County ,Leinster nor Croke Park.In GAA terms this is a national emergency.Never has so much money been raised from setting our crown jewel to aid the promotion of the games of our competitors, never has so many people been employed to promote the game,And this is the result.
It is no surprise however.I heard Sean Kelly say that his proudest day as President was when Ireland played England in rugby in Croker. And the present guy is now on to further promote our competitors advance by offering a further six provincial grounds to the savvy Rugby boyos in case they might need them.
Yep, remember when Seanie swore that only Croker would be rented  to help out our poor neighbours for Ireland's sake and that the rental would be used to promote our games. Now we see how hollow those pledges were.We have given up the ghost in 75% of our county on promotion and competing in our ancient game and left the area wide open for our competitors.I guarantee you that there are many multiples of three teams playing soccer and rugby in these areas.
I would say that the Sight easy lucre blinded the most passionate advocates of the sell out and alienated those fior Gaels who were driven by idealism. Now you have the result.
But it is not too late,if people of genuine idealism and vision take control. My proposals are:

1. Restructure the Club Scene to allow a maximum of 1,000 houses per club catchment area
Look for inspiration to ourselves,Boardsmill,Kimainham ,Killion.Kilskere ,Ballinlough ,Carnaross. It is eminently doable if idealistic and determined people get involved.

2.It amazes me that that so many good GAA people ,mainly those who can#t emigrate are languishing on the dole while so many social problems exist in their localities. These decent and suitable people should have their dole payments upped to enable them to put time with their local GAA Clubs in promoting the games ,thus saving society a huge fortune in combating social disturbance.
There are enough men now Fine Gael T.D.s who owe their political prominence to the GAA that it is high time they delivered for us.Name them out yourself.
And I'm not talking nominal tokenism here but real action.

It is time the GAA as a body called in some ofthe favour owed it for selling its Jewel's for a mess of pottage ,got its finger out before it is too late and put the pressure on Edna whose political prominence arose because his DA  won an All Ireland.

None of this is in any way critical of the youngsters who played us on Sunday nor the mentors who manage them. They at least are to b e lauded for keeping the game alive in what appears to be a hurling wasteland.

The game was played in KIlmessan on an overcast but not wet pitch and offered some entertainment as play swung from one end to the other and each team in turn had the winning post in their grasp.Masterson from Boardsmill was a fair referee. He played .You'd know.
The Border boys started well going five points up after fifteen. We fought back to within three points at half time .Score.2-3 to 0=6 against us.After a second half full of skill, determination and huge effort from both sides level again.Us 1-10 them 3-4,
After the first period of extra time we led2-12 to 4-4
At full time us 2-13 and them 4-7.
Another day out and no complaints either side.
We have a fair team. This is the first time I saw them play and they are a decent bunch of hurlers with great potential and no shortage of guts.

Team.
                                         Owen Smyth.

             Mickey Dowdall                                            Tomas O Conaire.

Aaron Feeney                        Luke Martyn                           Killian Conway

              Killian Leonard                              Conor Dempsey

Alex Walsh                       Robert MC Cab                              Mark Kanee

             Pearse Hickey                                 Danny Morris

Subs.Eoin Daly(used )
Peter Casey.

Owen ,Tomas and Danny are as good at hurling as they are at football, where I saw them more ofter and at close quarters .No wonder.Trish Smyth well knew her ash from her elbow on the Camogie field agus do bhi athar Tomas,Tomas freisin,in a peilidor iontach. And Danny from a great GAA tradition on his father's side and the son of a fair yielder of the Cama n didn't miss it.
Mickey has a hidden hurling heritage in his genes,Aaron is as god as his Da was when I mentored him underage and as tough as nails,Lukie is a game winner and as good if not n better than Joey and Jane at his age.He has skill in buckets.
Christine Leonard can be proud if Killian who is tough ,skillful and fearless ,just like herself when she graced the CAmogie fields of Meath  and KIllian Conway is one tough ,skillful and sticky son of a bitch to have marking you.I mentored his father Philip years ago and this lad is just t like him, fearless.
Conor Dempsey is right up there ,more skillful maybe than his father Dermot,i#d say but not as tough yet.He has time.
bob Mac Cabe has the genes of Sugsie and his great granduncle Barney a ,the first Dunderryman to field in an Ireland, coursing through his veins and it shows in his excellence .
Pearse Hickey gives his all but put his foot where his hurl  should be and retire4d injured.
I must admit I didn't see much of young Kane and Walsh before Sunday and was most impressed by their tenacity ,toughness and no little skill in play.
Owen Dal is the spit of his DA Dan but a player of far superior status and is a good one too.
Our Mentors were Mick Minogue and Dermot Dempsey,Two decent, sound and timid men,I assure you.
It takes two to tango and the Border boys gave as good as they got and with our lads, produced a hurling spectacle worthy of any occasion.
Roll on the replay.

                Pearse Hickey                         Danny Morris.

Bective Blitzkreig as Dunderry run amok in Under 21,

Dunderry blitzkrieged ragged Rathkenny this evening in a bitterly cold Bective to record their second win in the Under 21 football championship,The one sided nature of the encounter can be gauged from the fact that the half time score was 5-10 to 0-2 in Dunderry;s favour.
The fulltime score was,I think,6-14 to 0-4 and this was achieved without top scorer Stephen Coogan ,who went off early because of a hurt ankle .And we emptied our bench mid way through the second half.
Referee Richie Morris did his usual efficient job and wasn't called into action very often as there was hardly a decent challenge in the entire match and play flowed ,if that is the proper term.
Nor was there any repeated and unbidden  pitch incursions from the mentors of either side as bodies were not repeatedly falling without reason.
For the record Richie was not one of the pitch invaders that drew my ire in  the Dunderry V Blackhall Inter Hurling Championship Mach.
I had been worried about the future of Dunderry Football as we have been playing in the very low grades at juvenile level in recent years but there is some reason for optimism now, maybe.
There is no point analysing individual performances such was our superiority .This must await a more even contest and then we will call the men from the boys,
