Jack lynch's cowardice now in full public view.

The re examination of the full facts now in full public view shows that Captain James Kelly,John Kelly ,Captain Heffernan ,Charlie Haughey ,Niall Blaneyet ,Kevin Boland et al,were truthful in their assertions that The Lynch Government decided to import arms for the benefit of the the besieged Northern Catholics in 1969/1970 and that the attempts to prosecute them in 1970 was vile and  ill intended.

Luckily the jury didn't buy into that narrative and Haughey,Blaney  and the two Kellys were acquitted in what appears to have been a a  rigged trial..

The question that has to be asked now is whether Lynch and his co conspirators bear responsibility ,not only for ruining the lives of the Kellys and the three politicians in question but whether they bear ultimate responsibility h for all of the deaths and mayhem which followed in the North,South and Britian.

I knew John Kelly .He lived in Blanch and used drink in Davies PUB.His wife worked in Blanch Hospital and kept the show on the road.

He often told me that he was unemployable down here as if he even got a sniff of a job his  pursuers use warn off any potential employers .

He often told me that his residence was turned over on a regular basis by the Gardai and that even the drawers of his daughter was rifled in this process.

He also told me that he used dig a hole in his back garden and put a mix of cement inyto it at regular intervals to make this harrassment difficult for those turning over his property.

I can remember Charlie Cullen a Cavan man runnuing for the Council for Aontacht Eireann ,Kevin Boland's Party.in Blanch. My deceased Brother Robert canvassed for him.He didn't get on very well...Charlie was a decent guy and helped ,unasked, to put bitumen on the roof of a prefab I  was building. He too had little work.

I  thought that John Kelly was a decent man and so was Kevin Boland.

I never met Charlie Hasughey but think strongly he may have played a huge part in removing me from a particular job in the 1980's.

Other Politicians of the era I knew were Brian Lenihan ,who was ac decent man and Liam LAwlor who sponsored footballs for Brigids GAA Club.

Later I witnessed Garrett Fitzgerald holding court in a Brigid's tent --hired initially to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Michael  Cleary --and a procession of Civil Servants paying homage to the incoming Taoiseach. at the Clubhouse.

Now we must  reput the question of whose pedigree was questionable.Garret's da e xecuted untried Republican prisoners  and we must ask whether Liam Cosgrove was a patsy for the Brits and what responsibility he and his Party bears for the 30 year war in this Island.

It seems that many of the top players in this period of National turmoil were around Blanch

The gooose step grows louder.

The goose step was feared by free Europeans and Russians and such States as Hitlers Nazis neared to conquer them.I  consider the present Government a Government of geese and a gander,so it is no wonder that I  shouild associate them with the goose step.

After hearing on the Radio today that the parents of small children must hold them down in order to get probed for presence of the virus and that they are greatly distressed by this invasion of their bodily integrity there is no doubt but that the jackboots are fast approaching all of us.

The excuse for journalistic investigation that we have today justifiably entitles me to label them in mass "The how high will I  jump brigade of the Government "as that is what they say when a public health doctor or a Government member announces the latest punishment to be inflicted on the citizens.

It is indicative of the peurile journalism we have that the question the journalist pose regarding the hurting of the children by the parents was whether the kids in the queue could be protected from the racket of those being tested by insulating the noise being made by some process..

Similar to being barred from the approach road to abortion clinics,I'D SAY.

Soon those older citizens who refuse voluntarily to get tested will be dragged off protesting and screaming or being jailed for refusing the test.

For some time now I  have been very cynical of the appeal of those in power for  social solidarity in combatting the virus. In effect this is a device to blame all of us for being born and to make us feel guilty if the virus comes into our communities and throw the blame in our direction.

Of course this divertts the blame away from themselves.

They talk of th Meitheal process of long ago and appeal for that in advertisements spoken with flat Offally accents instead of the Anglo accents mostly used by themelves in order to bring us to heel.

I  discussed this with the Emerus Professor of medical ethics and bullshitting at Tullaghanstown  University and he concluded that this talk of Meitheal means that the Medics and Ministers will continue to draw their full salaries and expect the other suckers to pay theose salaries even though they have nada,at the same time encouraging their medical coolleagues to continue to abort the living unborn children of born humans.

They reckon that the more they abort the less  humans they will have to spread the virus.

The same principles will pave the way to isolate the very elderly and push them aside and once accepted will be applied progressively down the age scales.

This is not fanciful .Ask ypourself how many medics have been brought to account over the tsunami of deaths in the nursing homes and ask yourself would you go to one willingly.

Already spectators are barred ,without rational reason, from supporting their Parish teams by attending matches.

This is pushing the boat out to fracture social cohesion .whereupon they can introduce swhatever draconian measures thy want..

It is no coincidence that the Garda Commissioner wants all citizens to inform on their neighbours and that Government spokes people and "how high"journalists  always profess their love of Gaelic Games ,when you know full well that thety never went to a GAA Match in their lives.

These people should remember the atrocities perpetrated behind closed doors in the past, atrocities their medical and political ancestors  failed  to see, even though present all of the time.

Of course aside from physical totrure ,isolation is the greatest mental punishment that can be inflicted on prisoners ,yet these Masters of the Universe inflict it on the old and the sick and the fearful.

They want to destroy Religious practises also without rational.basis.This has to do with supression of potential unrest rather than rational medical practice.

All these things are to break the spirit of the populace so that hope is lost and whatever rules and laws they  want can be introduced ,protecting always the health and wealth of themselves and their families .

Pubs and restaurants are being used as experimental locations and testing grounds for new and oppressive Garda powers to bully and intimidate. If they get away with this in these locations it is only a small step further to see these powers being extended into private homes.

Basically they don't trust the ordinary people and are trying to bully them into line.

It is nothing new that there are many supporters of dictatorship in the country. Why do you think that a few thousand invaders controlled our Country for years.Their decendants live on and adore those at the top.

Instead of bullying and terrifying people the authorities should form a task force comprised of ordinary non political and non professional persons of all age and socio econimic groups and let them determine the fight against the virus.

Twitter row is not the thing.

I know little about Twitter save it is  used by Donal Trump to communicte with his followers, quite successfully apparently.

An outsider GAA Club man has filled me in on what is going on between Dunderry and Blackhall players .

Seemingly a spat is going on between Dunderry supporters and Blackhall supporters over the result of an Intermediate Football Championship game ,which Dunderry narrowly won.

I  was not at the game because supporters are not allowed attend for no discernable reason.Certainly no evidence has emerged that allowing two hundred into stadia capable of holding 25 thousand spectators has spread coronavirus. And in the North ,where supporters are allowed attend Club matches ,the incidence of corona virus spread is lower than here.

Were I  allowed I  would have written a report on the game and published it.

In this context I  have reported on a previous match between the same teams decrying the name  calling of our players all over the field as "pikies "and the repeated intrusion of their physio staff onto the field in order,it seemed to me, to put our guys off at critical junctures.

I  was careful not to name names. There is bad blood between the teams.

I played a lot of hurling and football and always took the view that unless the Referee rode us or that the opposition played illegal players that when the final whistle blew that was it.

None of us are perfect but I  would advise all parties to let their hurling and football on the field of play do their talking for them..

I know that it is hard to keep quiet when provolked.

How new Irish Commissioner will be chosen.

Probably the most qualified person for the Commissioner vacancy is Simon Coveney. It is obvious why he did not let his name go forward. It is because his gonads are the wrong shspe and he didn't want to risk being humiliated.

The ultimate test for the vacancy will be a hosing down by the head she cat and a sly glance at the gonads of the two Irish candidates ,whereupon the possessor of the vulva will be chosen.

Just why the male candidate let his name go forward for humilation is hard to fanthom.

John Armstrong Deceased.

On Tuesday 18th August last John Armstrong shook off this mortal coil.I understand that he was unwell for a while.

By coincidence a photograph of himself,Patsi Coogan and other members of a local showband called the Lumberjacks was in circulation on facebook a short time before his death.

They were all the go around here about 50 years ago and were fairly good.John played guitar and Patsi did vocals.

John was an only child as far as I know and my uncles told me that he was the apple of his mother's eye and that he was sent to piano lessons as a child.,which probably pointed him in the musical directions he subsequently followed.

His father was from either Fermanagh or Tyrone and was a hard working master carpenter  and farmer in Tullaghanstown ,trades which John took up for a period ,before he settled in Dunderry with his wihe Bridget ,who subsequently bore him a daughter Rosemary and two sons Paddy and Ronnie.

I knew them all.

I am told that Paddy was a good juvelnile hurler in his day ,Ronnie I  don't know about.Ronnnie.

This was before I  came to live here.

John drank in Geraghty's whilst he lived here and it was there that I  mostly met him.

He was quick witted .Once when he was thumbing to Navan I  picked him up.Innocently I  asked him what he was at..He took umbrage and after a while he said"I t's like this Daithi.when I 'm not fishing I'm mending my nets".

Unintentionally I  had offended him seemingly.Boy did he put me in my box.

A number of years ago they moved to Navan and rarely appeared hereabouts.

His grandson Kevin  is the spit of him and a decent young  man and hurls with the Club.

To his sons, daughter ,grandchildren ,Kevin and all his friends and relatives we offer our condolonces.

Tribute to Jarlat Folan.

Such is the evolution of the membership of Dunderry GAA Club and indeed the Parish in general that newer residents and members may never have heard of Jarlat ,who lived in Shambo for a considerable time with his family.

I remember him fairly well and he made a significant contribution to the progress of Gaelic games in Dunderry. My memory is that this contribution was in the promotion of Gaelic Football and that for years both himself and I think Pat Jennings, mentored a bunch of good footballer guys who would be now around the forty mark or thereabouts from the time they were young kids until thay were at minor level.

Included in these players were his sons Keith and Richie and  David Jennings and many more players who advanced to play senior for Dunderry.

Keith, although diminutive enough in stature, was built to the ground and with exceptional ball control was as quick as greased lightening around the goal and could strike as quich as an adder and was probably the most opportunistic of  his peers in the scoring stakes.

Richie was maybe not as good but not far behind.

As the apple never falls far from the tree they must have got it from either of their parents ,more likely Jarlat ,whose knowledge of football was of the highest order.

It is an advantage to be born with inherent football skills but these skills must be nurtered and it was there that his mentoring came into play for the benefit of the GAA Club.

I don't know if he played for Pats before he came to live in Shambo but stronglty suspect he did and that he must have been useful enough.

As far as I  can remember players were produced who reached Division 1 in Minor Football undrer the additional guidance of such as Pete Conaty,Jim Harte,Gerry Doherty,Christy Fay,Bomber Farrell,Dessie Fagan ,Calfer Coogan ,Joe Martin.Billy Bligh  maybe and Me Fein.,but at a later stage. No doubt I  have left out someone and will gladly correct this if contacted.

I  have a distinct memory,in the first years that I  was a mentor at Minor level  , of the present Secretary Paddy Darcy  being disappointed that  he was to labour in the second Division of Minor Football for his last year in the grade .

The point is that Jarlat left an indelible mark hereabouts.

He was a sociable guy and I  drank with him and the sons from time to time ,but not too often as Robinstown was his haunt and I  preferred Dunderry.

He was head man in Shambo stud and had a great knowledge of horses.

I  think that Jack Loughran was a prior owner of Shambo farm before Jarlat came around the place. He too has gone to his eternal rest and like Jarlat was a huge lover of the games of the Gaels,

I' m faily sure that Jack was at at Croker on Bloody Sunday when the Black and Tans murdered players and spectators whilst Dublin played Tipperary.

Shambo has been a happy hunting ground for Gaels in Dunderry ,as in addition to Jarlat and Jack we got Tony Brennan and his sons and grandsons and Kevin Slattery into our fold from there.

I  didn't know either his wife Geraldine nor his daughter Julie but think my daughters knew Julie Anne.

We were sorry when he and his family left the Parish and are sorrier that he has departed this life.

We sympathise with all his immedaite family ,far and near ,and all his relatives and friends on his passing.
