Dunderry High Nellies Part 2.

It has been brought to my attention that my history of bicycle racing a lifetime ago has a glaring omission in that there was a third and unheralded member of the team who also gave it diddly as best he could and that was Georgin Herterich.
Like the "Showman" and the "Footballers Father "he was under the management of the old Showman who was also the team Sponsor.
In true Sponsor mode he supplied bikes for all three who hadn't the price of a fag never mind a bike. Not Pirrelli for sure but a pre cursor of Smith International ,Dowd Oil and Herterich Engineering.
It is rumoured that one year when the Ras Tailtean was passing through Navan the intrepid trio hid in the bushes the Kells side of Navan and when the rear riders had passed they wheeled into the tail end of the race unnoticed.
History does not record what position they finished in but some swear that they went through Navan cock a hoop.
Truly those who turn up on Saturday will be wheeling in the wake of legends.

Dunderry High Nellies

A lifetime ago there used be a bicycle race in Dunderry.I well remember the most intense of competitive of races between Frank Smith a.k.a "The Showman " and "Rodger Rabbit"and Tommy Dowd a.k.a. "The footballers father"
Frankien was not the first of his breed to be known as "The Showman "as his father, who was equally eccentric and entertaining also carried that name with aplomb and Tommy Dowd might justifiably claim to be entitled to call his son "The Footballer's Son "  as he himself was no mean footballer and some consider that had he a smidgen of the dedication of his son for training that he might be equally revered in GAA circles.
Any how the races were deadly competitive and never more than a wheel separated them. The route was around the block starting at Horan's towards Robinstown, through Retaine, down by where Vincie and Dot used live and where Con and Marie now live and by Joe Clarke's back to Dunderry.I cannot remember how many laps were involved but the competition was really intense.
I understand,as a side comment, that Frankien maintained his "Rodger Rabbit "persona deadpan while a patient in Hospital much to the amusement of patients ans staff.A shrinking violet he was not and I for one miss his hilarious antics.
Niall a.k.a "he Nailer " was his brother. Himself and Frank were as physically opposite as brothers could be.Frank was six foot plus and  Neill was nearer Five foot.
Both were truckers and the Continent was their workplace. For a big man Frank had a tenor voice and Nailer had a voice that rumbled from his toes through his booming larynx.
Nailer too had a sporting love affair with the bicycle. He raised thousands for charity through sponsored cycles over the decades.
Like Frank and their trucking mate Metal Mickey their involvement with trucks attracted adverse attention of the law at times and this caused considerable stresses at times.
The trucking Heaven they now populate and enhance is I fully expect devoid of such tensions and in between climbing the Heavenly equivalent of Mont Blanc they are cycling the roads and lanes of Jesus Street and Peter's Lane.
It is therefor totally appropriate that Nailer's wife Marie and their son Francie are up to their oxters in another cycling club the Dunderry High Nellies.,which as the  name implies is for cycling spins on the old "High Nellie "bicycle.
Next Saturday,May 2nd., at 4.00 p.m.in Dunderry they are hosting a family day out for all vintage cyclists.Refreshments are guaranteed during the trip and afterwards. There will be a raffle and a  few glasses of fresh milk afterwards. And if you implode during the spin there will be transport to bring you back to base.
No pressure then and all are sure of a "Cead Mile Failte."

I'm voting "No".

My recent foray into the so called  debate on the issue of the forthcoming referendum seeking to redefine the notion of marriage from being the union for life of a consenting adult  male and consenting adult female to essentially being between two consenting adults irrespective of their sex has revealed to me the  intimidating ,threatening and ugly nature of the movement advocating the change in the Constitutional position.
For daring to say that I believed that a more balanced rearing would be given where a father of the male sex and a mother of the female sex were involved in parenting a child I was labelled with the ageist tag, told I was ignorant and a bully and threatened that society had no place for people like me.
I am supposed to be medieval to boot and as for being a Catholic,it is clear to me that that camp share the views  of ISIS in the main and would gladly throw the followers of the Cross overboard to drown  given a chance.
I am beginning to think that the spoiled child syndrome affecting the young single  children of China ,who are so pampered and used to getting their own way that they think they can do what they want and actually despise the traditions of their parents and ancestors is well rooted here too and that many over educated, spoiled and pampered youths of a certain age actively despise their own traditions and take pleasure in denigrating those who reared them and think nothing of ruthlessly stabbing them in the heart,as it were.
Some of the protagonists who attacked me seem have a deep rooted hatred of heterosexuals and blame us solely for all the ills in the world, including death by suicide of some homosexual people.
I would turn this on its head and suggest that many suicides of people my age could be rooted in the uncaring and aggressive discarding of our traditions and beliefs by a brash ,spoilt and uncaring cohort of spoiled and overdamanding young adults who are encouraged in their actions by a media that is out of sync with broader society.
AS for the politicians, hey are united in their view that supporting anything but traditional values is the mother lode to elective success and are both creating and hopping on the hysterical screeching of the homosexual brigade in the hope  that will garner another term of power.
This is nothing new for a blueshirt /laboue coalition as it was de rigeur for the same combination in the eighties who turned brother against brother in the plethora of constitutional elections in order to deflect attention from the horrible economic conditions and the depopulation of the country caused by economic emigration. Nothing changes.
Except that the coalitions  answer to massive under performance by a Government Minister is to announce that he/she or someone belonging to them is homosexual and to hide behind this relevation to protect them from justified criticism. After all to criticise a homosexual in any guise is homophobic and people are cowed into silence by the same tactics and the same cohort of people that orally abused and threatened me when I dared propose an opposing view.
Look ,all the politicians and the trendies are in favour of this gender balance thingy in order to have a more and better balance of gendered people running the county.Supposed to be a great thing.
Suggest that the same thing ought apply in the basic unit of society and you are a homophobe, ignorant,a bully .an out of touch auld fogey ,medieval heterosexual religious nut who has no place in society
.And all the unions, including the Gardai, and sportspeople  who have enough to do reaching the pinnacle of their games of choice and most especially providers of social media ,who are all  subsidised by the taxes of all the people of Ireland  ,should  keep their noses out of the politics of this issue and be thankful they are getting their pockets lined in these times of hardship .in large part out of the taxes squeezed from the plain people of Ireland .

Grim Reaper still at it.Marie Fulham

No sooner have the burial arrangements of Sean Cleary and Tommy Garry been finalised than the nearest neighbour to the Garrys is also called to God.
Marie Fulham of the Minister's Bridge between Garry's Cross and Kilbride Village near Trim (opposite Nancy Mc Cormacks )has just now been called to God.
I had heard that she got a bad turn two days ago and was on a ventilator in Navan Hospital and did notice a casebook request for prayer from her son Shane, but never suspected that she was in such imminent danger.
As they say you know not the day nor the hour.
We fully sympathise with her husband and children and grandchildren .
Ar Dheis De go raibh a hanam dilis.
Her mortal remains will be reposing at her home from 3.00p.m. to 8.00 p.m.this Thursday and her funeral Mass will be at 1.00p.m. this Friday in KIlbride Church with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The beautiful Game,Cork and Neddie Hanly

To distract myself from all the grief and bad karma around the Parish  I am just finished watching the National League hurling semi final between Dublin and Cork.
Dublin were far the better team over the hour, were 5 points ahead with 6 minutes to go,looked totally in control but were pick pocketed by Cork, who won by a last minute point.
Bit like Trim's pickpocket ting of Dunderry's footballers last Friday.
Coincidentally both Trim and Cork wear Red as did my former Club St.Brigids of Blanchardstown.
Now Neddie Hanly was my wife's uncle and a proud Templemore man.Himself and my father in law,Tommy Hanly won a number of Senior Football Championships with Templemore in the  1920's or thereabouts and spent a lifetime studying and attending Thurles to witness Tipp's exploits on the hurling fields and had huge experience of Cork hurling.
I well remember going to Thurles with him decades ago to see a game betwen Cork and Tipp.I think.
Tipp were hot favourites and I asked him, after we got in for free ,due to a nod he gave to a gatekeeper he knew, what he thought of the upcoming game.
"Jasus " said he,"those Cork boys are hoors ..You'd never be up to them."Tipp- lost.
Nathing changes.
On a more serious note, both Cork and Dublin are worth a punt for the Football/Hurling All Ireland double.
Finally nothing compares to Hurling well played .

Mary mac Aleese.The penny drops.

Now that her only son has come out of the closet  and declared that he is a homosexual ,the penny finally drops ,as it were,on why she is so vehemently oppose to the teachings of the Catholic Church on the matter of homosexuality and a myriad of other matters.
She  presumably expects it to change its position on this  and other issues to fit neatly into her personal situation. Thanks be to God the Catholic Church is a universal institution and is not as supine as the political parties  and intimidating paper and electronic media excuses for reportage that passes here  and the Church  very properly takes a principled stand on the matter of the sacredness of the traditional family.
Some idea of the sort of intimidation that supporters of the no side can expect if the change to the Constitution is passed can be gauged from the bullying that was inflicted on a caller to Live line who objected to the display of a four storey  unauthorised mural in the H.Q.of homosexual Ireland designed by its author to support the yes vote, who had a caller from England call her a homophobe and demand she not be given airtime at all.
And then we had others try to ridicule her and make out it was art and art only. And another little shit demand her to say whether she thought a picture of two men kissing revolted or disgusted her.
She properly refused to answer.
Were I asked I would answer that I do find such scenes revolting and don't want to look at them. But hey if it is passed presumably there are those who want them forced on us as it were.
Of course what homosexuals who are consenting adults lawfully do in the privacy of their own homes are private matters as are the moves of heterosexuals.
Am I correct in remembering that the unfurling of a banner objecting to the presence of the Quinn  of England to Ireland by the father of Celtic player Stokes from his public house resulted in a deluge of pet media abuse being heaped on him and visits from the Gardai and the City Council and whatever you are having yourself.
And no constitutional campaign in place.
Now we have homosexual women Senators applauding their banner.
Yep these people are above the law,not like the rest of us.
And finally that arch anti Catholic bigot Vincent Brown must be rubbing his hands in delight now that he has intimidated and sneered at Catholicism so long that people are afraid to even say on his Show that they intend to vote no.,as was the case last week when only three of  a few  hundred people at a Kildare venue volunteered  that they were of that disposition.
I will never forget the spitting out of the word "sheep " as a   denigrating of people such as me who are lay Catholics by him at his insulting and vindictive best.
As another know all John Crown diplomatically referred to an idea or a man whose view he opposed on radio recently a right "bollix ".
And of course the political heirs of those that took 77 recent comrades  from jail and murdered them without trial in 1922 are living up to their tradition by again  misusing their authority to get on side those Yankee companies they pander to ,to interfere in Irish politics and agree to denigrate the tried and trusted family definition .Boss Croker's reference to a good .. staying bought springs to mind.
Not content with evicting their  own people a la Cromwell.selling off large tracs of the country to foreigners, stealing our water frrom us,imposing the will of a bullying and hateful EU illegal dictat on austerity that has caused huge hardship and premature death and forced economic emigration and continues to do so ,the united political class has now enrolled and given centre stage to those we grant favourable Tax rates free licence to interfere in our domestic policies.
Banana Republic is right.

Suffering at an end.

Our friends will know who I refer to.
His suffering ended about an hour ago.
May the Lord have Mercy on his soul.
Tommy Garry is 62 years young.

Ex Camogie Players on rampage.

Certain ladies who I formerly coached in the skills of Camogie were on the rampage in Dunderry tonight.
It seems that older and more experienced Camogie players don;t just go away. Some at least take up Badminton and do well at it.
Suzanne Kelly, Lorraine Thornton,Tara and Collette Rowan Caroline Duffy,Rachael Doherty (so much of her that is left in any event ) former players of this Club, joined by Ceilia Murtagh who used ply her trade with the Yellow furze and John Brady's delightful wife Orla Crocock, were looking for a pig to roast after winning the Div.8 Badminton League in a match where they did beat Trim on Friday evening.
Realising that the last vestiges of the pig were long gone they settled for tay and sandwiches in a prolonged pub crawl involving Horan's and Geraghtys, where I am told they danced on the tables under the gaze of manager Mark Nolan, husband of another Camogie veteran Eunice O Brien.
Susan Mulligan another veteran chick with a stick plys  her badminton very successfully with Sryrne ,I believe and I have no doubt that her sister Anne (Walker ),who lives in Scotland would also excel at the game were she available.
Another Dub.in exile here ,Maura Walshe a mustardseeder  who has gone nearly fully native, was missing from the celebrations on the night, having excelled at the rackets during the year.
Had she been there I have no doubt but that she would have ensured a more ladylike and civilising tone to the raucous celebrations. She keeps reminding me that it is up to us Dubs to set a good example to these Dunderry heads.
History was made last week when a second adult Camogie team fielded against Drumree and Lettie played both on the goal line and further out the field.
I am looking forward very much to next Monday evening when the Club I founded and nurtured,Dunderry, takes on Navan O Mahuony's in Navan in the Intermediate Championship.
Our Mag,now in her 39th year, forced to transfer from the Club she graced as both administrator and player by a particularly nasty piece of hatefulness, will play for O Mahony's against her former team mates all of whom she either played with or brought into the game.
I expect nothing other than a sporting encounter and no vindictiveness and know that no true Gael would stoop to that.

NNBB.Game postponed.until a later date.

Drowning Update.

Near Bective Bridge today the mortal remains of Sean Cleary were found.
May the Lord have mercy on his soul.

Good news and bad news.

A contemporary of my own who has cancer is under pressure and fighting the good fight.
Killian is getting slowly stronger and there is still no sign of Sean Cleary.
There are  those I know who sneer at the thought of prayer.
Those who do believe I ask ye to keep them in your prayers.

Trim 1-9.Dunderry 1-8.IFC 17/04/2015

Cortown Pitch was resplendent tonight at 7.00 p.m. for this vital match which would have a huge bearing on the Championship.
We inhabit the group of death in this Championship.Every team in it is better than the other.Last week we beat a lacklustre Ballivor team and Trim were hockeyed by a far superior Ratoath team .who are firm favourites to not only win out in the Group but to win the full Championship, as they were last year.but nobody told Ballinabrackey who dumped them out in the semifinal.
Notwithstanding that and considering the fact that they have several players on the Senior County panel it is only a matter of time until they do advance upwards.
So Trim were fighting for their lives tonight and we were desperate to rack up two in a row to give us some breathing space.
It is a fact that thee is little between Tim and ourselves but Trim have had the upper hand when it s counted in recent years.
We know them well and them us and we  intermingle and intermarry and engage in commerce all the time.
Aside from sporting rivalry and it as intense as it gets, we are the best of friends.
One of my sons Evan was centre back for us today.Eoin Kelly ,who is married to our Claire and lives in KIlbride ,was full back for Trim.
We take our GAA seriously  (well my circle do in any event ) in Dunderry and speculation was rife on whether we would stick with the team that won last week or whether the selectors would opt for the available again Davy Jennings for goal (over Garret Dooley who was impeccable last week when Davy was not available) and whether the fit again  Davy Mc Cormack could regain his place .

Team.
                                                 Jennings
A.Newman                            S.Harte                            C.O.Shea

C.Dempsey                              E.Stephens                   Swiss Clarke

                           L.Dempsey                    C.Farrell

A.Watters                                  L.Martyn                    A.Coogan

P.Kenneally                              S.Carty                           S.Coogan.

We had about 15 subs togged out and I briefly looked in on thetraining on Thursday night. All were training so the buzz was on the button.
From an early stage the referee made it clear that any attempt at physical contact, even revising to get out of the way would be harshly punished.
Like last week, uncles the backs throw down the red carpet to the forwards they will be carded or penalised.
This feminising of football is turning real competitive men off in droves ,be they either players or spectators and unless it is addressed pronto the crows will spectate t football games and those interested in physical contact sport will turn to the physically competitive rugby union.
I digress here and as I am unable for the hustle and bustle of inter county football games can only rely on spectators I trust who swore to me that both the Meath and Cavan spectators at the recent game in Navan heckled their own players and bawled at them to make some effort to play football and stop the cod acting.
And the Dublin supporters ,probably the best in the Country left Croker in droves such was the poverty of the fare on view in their match against Derry
Larry Tompkins is on the button when he advocates a policy of making it an offence to kick out the ball to restart play after a score or a wide a distance of less than 45 metres. He also ,I think advocates the banning of a back pass to the goalkeeper and proposes a limit on the number of hand passes.
I would go further and ban the hand or fist pass altogether ,totally ban the back kick to the goalkeeper ,agree with the change to kick the ball out at least 45 metres and encourage quick reac tion and  allow and encourage unfettered side and shoulder contact both when competing for the ball and when trying to dispossess a player in possession of the ball.
As for expecting a defender to lay down a red carpet for an attacker ,this is pure nonsense .
Kenneally,Corty and Coogan are on either the under 21 or senior panels or both ,so you would expect them to be our ace in the hole,as it were
Trim played a two man full forward line and drew Harte outfield .expecting I would say to tire out his aging legs.
It backfired .He did more damage than his opponent even scoring a point from play in the first half.
As a tactic Trim let in low ball to the two strikers hoping to expose Newman and O Shea.
They were under intense pressure as a consequence and it worked in the long run.
Our boys put Kenneally on Owen Kelly fully expecting him to clean out Owen at the edge of the square. It backfired and Onie won that battle hands down.limiting Paddy to 0-2 from play.
I would say that midfield broke even over the hour ,that our half back line was our strongest line by a mile but that our shooting left much to be desired.
Were off the mark first through Watters with a minor and lodged another point on the board before they registered a point.Together with Watters ,Harte ,,Luke  and Kenneally scored minors and Caty.with his only touch of the ball scored a goal.
All from play.
Trim scored three pointed frees only.
Our shooting .from open play and frees left much to be desired but possession wise and chances wise we were six points the better team,I thought.
But worringlyFinn and a busy Jennings smothered possible goal chances from a dogged Trim who never gave up the ghost and kept in touch. All our half backs shone through and Newman and O Sea did a good containment job and the roving Harte was good.
The referee blew his whistle aplenty ,hard at times to know for what, but he was equally perplexing to both sets of supporters.to be fair to him.
A number of yellow cards were waved for harmless enough encounters in what was an over clean game without any dirt or even physicality whatsoever.
Half time score  1-4 to Dunderry.0-3 to Trim.Trim made a few positional changes at half time.We made none.
They were off the mark .firstly and secondly with points, from frees if memory serves me right, before we scored a point ,again from a free. And so it went.
IN Allie added four points 3rom frees by Stephen Coogan and another from Kenneally but could never pull convincingly  ahead as they stayed stubbornly in touch via their free taker and as Andy was replacedcby Davy Mac.Andy wasn't the problem ,it appeared to me.But there you go.
Missed a rake of chances in the second half, both from play and placed balls and with Stephen having an off day we had no contingency plan ,it seemed to me.
Anyhow with time upon the clock we were 4 points up and it all looked over bar the severe shouting, but Trim had other ideas and bagged a notunexpected goal in extra time and our Evan, who had an otherwise excellent game fumbled in possession of the ball ,after a previous bang to the head, which the referee advanced 21 yards for something to bring it wir in scorable range.
They duly scored and the whistle the blew.
Bet by a point.I'd say they were more shocked than us.
Back k to the drawing board.the for the fight for survival.

Mary Mac Aleese at it again.

Unsurprisingly our Mainin is repaying the political establishment who gave her a free run at the second term of her Presidency by fully backing them all in advocating a yes vote to change the nature of marriage as being between a man and a woman to one between any combination of adults in the forthcoming referendum.
Unsurprisingly also and not for the first time and as many of her over educated and taxpayer funded colleagues in her Elizabethan Alma Mater have done, she presumes to influence the Nation's Catholics on the way to vote in the Referendum by saying that she and her husband will vote "yes".
With time on her hands she has seen fit to lecture those charged with running the Catholic Church on such issues as married priests, its attitude to homosexuality and whatever you are having yourself.
She has criticised the Hierarchy's for allowing abuse of children under its watch.
Now some Hierarchy may have allowed this,I don't know.
But she was President of this s country for 14 years and as first citizen with the full resources of the Country at her fingertips the question must be asked what did she do about it and did any abuse take place during those 14 years of stewardship?
I have to say that I am totally uneasy at all these Reports that fail to lay even the glance of a glove on the entire political, judicial and public service organs of State which were legally charged with the well being of its most vulnerable subjects and which successfully lay all the blame on the Religious.
Some hand washing job.
Now I am not saying that our Manin knew of such abuse.
I am a 63 year old lay member of the Church and ,like millions of other such members had no idea that the forces of evil had infiltrated some members.
But Theology and Canon law aside I believe that the Pope is God's Man on earth and that our Manin ,although she presumes to know more than Him,does not and never will.
So despite her swanning about in the seas of liberal rheology and her multitude pronouncements on matters of Catholic morality I will not pay a blind bit of notice of what she says on this or any other issue.
I will however be contemplating on the First Commandment  "I am the Lord thy God and you shall not have strange Gods before me,"and try and figure how and if it applies on these matters.

Magnificient Greeks following in steps of Leonidas.

As part of the battle of Thermopylae, fought in 480 b.c. 300 Spartans defied the vastly superior (somewhere between 150,000and 1,000,000 soldiers ) army of the Asian King Xerxes ,who uncannily wanted the "earth and water "of Sparta,Thrace and other Greek confederates as a sign of their submission to him.
Xerxes considered himself a God incarnate.
For 3 days 300 Spartans and a number of Thespians held this massive horde at bay before they were over run and in so doing gave several thousand of their compatriots the chance to fight another day.
Now the similarities between that scenario and the present hammering of the Greeks and the absolute bullying of the population by the combined hordes of the other member States of the EU and the IMF is uncanny and eerie if you substitute economics deprivation and austerity for colonial ambition and naked greed.
In Ireland eviction has become commonplace ,NAMA and various hues of insolvency practitioner and banks  are selling off the houses.lands and  estates of this country to foreigners ,including vulture capitalists (think earth) and the State has taken it on itself to appropriate the water of the Country unto itself at the behest of the EU  (think water).
The fact that the approximate population of Dublin City (400.000 ) are waiting for outpatient appointments ,many for over a year, to get attention in our hospitals must rank for the world record for a developed country as a percentage of our total population.
Not to mention the scandal of the placing of very sick patients on trolleys endangering their frail health and shortening their lives as we spend countless millions educating the youth of the overwhelmingly privileged in our medical schools for export to greener pastures abroad .
Rather than standing up for its citizens ,,this Government and the previous one has acted like the traitor who betrayed Leonidas and his Spartans by showing the secret paths around the back of the Spartans to Xerxes and his hordes ,in order to outflank the Greeks.
And remember this, the State pays absolutely nothing to anybody,it is you and I and everybody who lives here ,consumes here and pays the myriad taxes here who pay all these things. The State is like the Sheriff of Nottingham in the Robin Hood sagas,it merely collects everything it generates from its subjects and redistributes it ,not forgetting to ;look after itself and its enforcers along the way ,of  course.
Now the Geeks are like us only in Spades..They have been screwed beyond endurance by a horde of bullies ,including our fellas  and gals, who are glorying in how they have sold the Big Lie to us and now want the Greek Government to break their word as our guys and gals did and betray their electorate.
I hope that their Government does keep its word and takes courage from their ancestors the Spartans. And I hope that our electorate sees through the Big Lie being promulgated by there esta blisherd parties and puts them to the political sword.

Dunderry 1-15.Ballivor 0-6.IFC

In Corttown tonight we ran out easy victors over a game  Ballivor team who had a man dismissed for two yellows just before half team.
A workman like performance.A good start which goes some small way to compensate for the 6-33 to 0-8 hammering inflicted on our hurling team by Killyon last Saturday in the Davis Cup in which about 6 Ballivor men featured,I think.
This club must ensure that such an embarrassing score is never again chalked up against any team in our Club.

Still no sign.

At lunchtime today I travelled through Trim. The search parties were still out.No sign of Sean Cleary yet.

Search Continues

Despite a massive co ordinated search for the body of the suspected suicide in the Boyne in Trim by the Meath River Rescue ,the Gardai and many neighbours of the suspected deceased no body has been found as yet.
God only knows the suffering being endured by his immediate family and indeed all related to him and this Blog is calling for more Prayers to enable the search to reach its conclusion..

Graham Dwyer Murder Trial,my Take.

Elaine O Hara has been found to have been murdered by Graham Dwyer in possibly the most published criminal trial  in recent memory. The jury were present for most of the evidence produced and presumably had a far greater overview of the case than thee likes of mise who has only the reported version to rely on and I accept without reservation the verdict delivered.
Aside from the fact that there was no evidence she died violently and that his wife's evidence that a spade found near the grave was his was forensically proved wrong, the accumulated circumstantial evidence was the plank on which he swung,as it were.
There is one aspect of the trial that makes me wonder however and this is it.You have to be a clever person to become an architect ,dunces don't qualify.
Dwyer was painted as a manipulative ,scheming sadist and must have been  double clever to carry out his dual lives as respectable architect and devoted family man and a master  bdsm devotee, particularly in these days of  ever present CCTV coverage ,which his profession would always encounter.
Why a clever man such as he would leave a trail of semen in the CCTV covered apartment bed of his intended victim shows an an extraordinary lapse of  care for such a devious and manipulative man .
You couldn't have pointed the finger more at yourself if you tried.
Just saying.
The other aspect of the case, which taken in connection with the Bailey case which makes me wonder is the heroics of voluntary witnesses, who do their civic duties.
In the Dwyer case the evidence of Dyers current and ex wives against him have been universally praised as the epitome of the fulfillment of a civic duty.
IN the Ian Bailey case the evidence of voluntary witness Mairead Farrell, who changed  evidence mid stream ,because she alleged, of Gardai mis behaviour, her behaviour in this regsard has been referred to the DPP ,presumably for consideration of perjury.
So together with having her past romantic indiscretions exposed and being publicly skewered on the witness box she is being threatened with the offence of perjury.
Thia sends one message to me loud and clear and it is this..If you make a statement to the Gardai knowing it to be untrue, never, never try to  tell the truth and correct it unless you are prepared to be excoriated by the legal system ,have the minutest details of you past life revealed  and be threatened with a perjury conviction.
And the other thing is this,Don't take on the State,They have unlimited taxpayer donated resources to defend their position. You don't.
