Because Poland and Hungary are protective of their Christian values ,as is clear from the number of Ukrainian people they have offered shelter to ,they have been hounded by the more anti Christian States of the Union and the Commission.
It is time now for those States who have pursued these decent countries to put up or shut up.
They can do this by apologising to Poland and Hungary for their vileness in humiliating these countries and on a more hyumane level by taking in say a half million Ukrainians each.
Don't hold your breath.
